Urgent Alert: Oppose the Voinovich Proposal

Senator George Voinovich (R-OH) proposed legislation that would postpone meaningful action on global warming pollution for at least twenty years.
In the meantime, the proposal would take away state authority to control global warming pollution, undermining efforts in dozens of states, including California, Florida, and the Northeast members of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, which have set ambitious emissions reduction targets.
We need to do everything we can to defeat Senator Voinovich's sham proposal.

  • If we postpone action much longer, we won't have to bother. It will be too late. I got the email from the EDC earlier today and signed. Everyone needs to sign!

    Thankyou. I just posted about this here also a couple days ago, and think this is important. The most outrageous part of this is that it would undo every stride states have made regarding climate change and their power to do more. This simply cannot get traction. So thanks for posting this too.

  • thanks for the post...have written my representatives in Washington about this very same issue...also sent emails en masse....Hard to believe there are still some idiots who do not believe that global warming is real and needs addressed immediately...if not years ago!

  • Yeah, I guess you're right. All those scientists that talk about the Earth going through cycles of heating and cooling are idiots. And the scientists who talk about the effects of sunspots increasing and decreasing over time effecting the environment, well they must be idiots, too.

    We don't have enough information to come to a complete verdict on:
    A. Whether global warming is a real phenomenon
    B. If it is, whether or not it is caused by man

  • They're not idiots, they've just been debunked already. Yet the same real idiiots keep on using it as an excuse to not see what is right in front of their faces for whatever selfish reason they want to invent to keep the status quo.
