Pigeon racing has been a sport since 1150 A.D.

It's amazing that in the inner city of Baltimore, Maryland this is still a big sport. Meet some of the people who are keeping the sport alive, see why they do it, and how they do it.

  • Great work! I love the concept of pigeons in the city and trying to dispel their bad rep. It's also really interesting to see why/how people get into this obscure yet traditional sport.

  • this is really eye opening. it is amazing how pigeons have the natural ability to find their way home. It is also very inspiring to see how positive of an effect that pigeon racing has has on people who have come across obstacles in their lives. this is very interesting.

  • Wicked cool. Gangs, prison, family values, pigeons--what a great combo! Shows to go ya that people can always get back in touch with what matters to them - family, nurturing and a dose of healthy competition. Awesome job with the whole shabang!

  • Brilliant, topicwise it has Ghost Dog writen all over it, indeed.

Seems like you were able to find quite some characters, might be interesting to see a longer feature even, with more indepth stories on their lives, and the place the pigeon racing takes in that.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Loved the film. Didn't know these races were going on in Baltimore City. Keep up the good work.....
  • This was so informative! I had no idea that there was such an organized competition going on like this. It really looks fun and interesting. How amazing it is that they can find their way back to the nest like that!!!!! Wow!

It was so nice to see such a positive and uplifting story. Thank you!

  • The film maker has a rich pedigree--like the pigeons we saw. Good exposure to a way of coping that seemingly mostly men have found rewarding. Unlike children, these progeny come back. Maybe one effective way to resocialize young men/boys who, as we say in England, 'were dragged up, not brought up' !

  • Very interesting story. My grandfather in China, years ago was a pigeon racer. I didn't know it was happening here in the states.
