Just a blog post of mine provoked by a Washington Post report yesterday that reminded me that this was something I had thought about before and then not much further! (And also wanted to try those little current_ button plug-in from my blog!)
Basically. Pollutants negate the scent of flowers. Bees depend upon the scent to find the flowers. When the bee's ability to do so is hindered, not only is its source of nutrition minimised but also the pollination process. What follows is a decline in the bee population and a decrease in the proliferation of flowering plants.
