The naivety of the US administration continues. Will they ever realise that the Middle East is a much more complex region than they potray it to be. You would think they would have learn't lessons from Iraq. Bolton being a neo con, was one of the hawks in the Bush administration who seemed compelled to invade Iraq because of ideological vigour, there is a clear absence of rationality.

Bombing Iran would just cause more problems for us. Problems that we don't want. You would think that all the admirals/generals/whoever would be smart enough to know that attacking Iran in any way would just cause huge problems for the US in the middle east.

I'm not so much worried about our reputation (everyone already hates us to some degree). I'm more worried about larger wars that could be started by the US government.

That sounds like a great idea! At what point are these neanderthals going to get the idea, you can't kill everybody you don't get along with. Maybe we should try some diplomacy, you know, talking to people - that's what we pay diplomats to do - right?

I say we just wait it out a little bit for 1 of 3 things to happen. Either A) proof Iran has nuclear weapon research/ attempts to build the bomb -or- B) Find some concrete proof of them funding the jihadists in Iraq -or- C) attack Israel. The second ANY of these qualifications are met, blow Iran clean off of the map, if it takes a nuke to prevent the loss of any American/ coalition military forces then so be it, feed 'em a nuke or two.

Liberal_Extinction how can you say that? There are millions of innocent people in Iran who would be killed by actions such as that. Plus nuking Iran would would do a few other things no one wants. First of all this would cause others in the region to dislike us even more and secondly it would give countries that support Iran (Russia) a reason to start something with us. i do not believe we should use nuclear weapons against iran, but i do believe that a limited strategic air strike against there military training camps and nuclear facilities should have happened a long time ago

If we attack Iran say goodbye to the world, they are backed by Russia and once Russia and the US start nuking each other everyone gets involved, this is very dangerous territory we are treading into, even if the rest of the world doesn't get involved Russia and America will cancel each other out with their nukes, I got the most brilliant idea ever! pull out of Iraq, no more terrorists attacking US Troops, no more problems in Iran, and im sure the terrorists will be sufficiently happy when we stop telling middle eastern countries what not and what to do. i served in the marines i was with a fast co. out of va. and also with1/3 out of kaneohe mcb. when i was with 1/3 we did patrols out of kir kush it's in eastern iraq on the iraq/iran border part of our mission while we were there was to patrol the border region there. we detained hundreds of iraqi/iranian militants crossing the border most with either small arms and some with exsplosives. so don't tell me that i'm a complete fool or ignorant, i was there i know what i saw. i don't need you guys or the news telling me how bad these guys can be i know from my own experience.

to say that russia would attack the u.s. with nukes if we did strategic strikes against iran is the most ignorant thing i've heard. i'm sure they would'nt like the idea since they have buisness ties to iran but to think they would start an all out nuclear war with us is not smart. they have plenty of the own security problems.

If Bolton has mental problems it is, without a doubt, due to having to deal with the United Nations, a thoroughly corrupt, anti-American useless group that should be considered a joke among thinking people.
I don't know about bombing Iran. Israel may take care of the Iran problem before too long. I can't see the IDF letting Iran becoming more of a threat to that area than it already is without doing something.
It is quite possible that we will wind up in it with Iran at some point in the future, beyond what they are doing in Iraq. I think, if we can ID terrorist training camps or sources of munitions being used in Iraq we should make sure these places cease to exist.
Bottom line, no matter what we do with Iran, obliterate it or talk to it, nothing will change with islam. We are in a war with that cult and that will not change.
