  • Don't worry, you blew the whistle yourself.

Enjoy your closet racism and your diminished manhood you fear-mongering fool. The rest of us will do our best to pretend the DoD and the social security crisis won't ruin this country.

  • Do you honestly believe that Barak could get to this point with never having accomplished anything in his career? It's disingenuous to act like Hillary is the only one with any experience. If being older, equals more experience, and thereby a right of passage to be president, then McCain should take the cake on that. I wear my Obama t-shirt and love that urks mean-spirited people like you.

  • Perhaps "plaguing" a college campus isn't such a bad idea. I mean in my years in college i learned how to spell words like "campus", and "assessment".

Aside from my personal issues with spelling errors and those people who choose to criticize others intelligence while clearly lacking in their own, why is it that if you like one candidate you have to hate and chastise another? Pick the puppet on the left, or the puppet on the right. Barack is where he is because of scandals and lies of other politicians who held higher power than him. He has never been directly elected to any position. Maybe thats a good thing, maybe that means he's not a politician, maybe he is human...well we know that's wrong, he lies and manipulates just like the rest. It doesn't matter who i vote for, and perhaps your angry comments towards one another wouldn't make you come across like a bunch of partisan rioters if occasionally you MADE A POINT! Stop getting your opinions from the tv and your friends and start making your own decisions.

Despite ClayJJ's blatantly racistl comment i have to agree that a look at history would tell us that college students love to talk, but never go to the polls.

  • OK I'll give YOU YOUR one Accomplishment.

OBAMA BEAT Clinton. HA. Even with RUSH LIMBAUGH's lemmings crossing over to VOTE for Hillary. That is how she won the states she eeked out in the end. When there was no crossover allowed OBAMA WON.

OBAMA WON He has plenty of other accomplishments but that one is enough for most of us.

  • Obama added health insurance for 20,000 children in my home state, Illinois. He passed a bill that increased the minimum wage from 5.15 to 6.50. He passed an aggressive reform bill to Illinois' death penalty system which was passed in the Illinois Senate 58-0. Also, his public opposition to the Iraq War (and incredible foresight in 2002) is worth noting.

You say young people won't turn out to vote, but they have been all primary season. You can't just 'look at history' and decide how this thing is going to turn out. This election has been anything but status quo. I truly believe that something is happening in America, and people are starting to pay attention to what is going on all around them.

  • Clay. I think there are many more accomplishments to list from a variety of sources
    some that I've noticed are ;
*Voter registration in illinois back when he was just a pup, comunity organizing.
*This summer Obama and college students like myself are involved in a campaign to get more voters registered.
*Symbolism as noted by your cartoon...Obama's logo that symbol is powerful and its effect goes beyond college students.
*He understands both atheist and christians because he lived in both worlds
    *Award winning books
    *Running a domintantely positive campaign
    *Inspiring speeches
*His vision to see past red and blue states making them purple ;)
*The emphasis is on the movement and the people
"yes WE can" instead of the person ..."yes SHE will"
*My apathetic non-voting boss claims that if Obama is the nominee, then my boss, he is going to the booth in november -its the little things like that that touch you
  • I believe he is out of touch from a nationalist perspective, but he is right on when it comes to aligning ourselves with the rest of the world. As we begin to form our regional economic unit, Obama promises change.

Except, this change is nothing new. It is the same dream that Alexander of Macedonia had, as well as what the Romans achieved. History repeats itself and teaches us of such world systems.

When it comes to the media, they are even further out of touch than Obama. They do not realize that we are no longer watching.

  • But let's give them substance Divine Perspective.

On the idea of changing government as a freshman Senator has done alot even though others dont know...

1.Federal Ethics Reform: Obama and Senator Feingold (D-WI) took on both parties and proposed ethics legislation that was described as the "gold standard" for reform. It was because of their leadership that ending subsidized corporate jet travel, mandating disclosure of lobbyists' bundling of contributions, and enacting strong new restrictions of lobbyist-sponsored trips became part of the final ethics bill that was signed into law. The Washington Post wrote in an editorial, "The final package is the strongest ethics legislation to emerge from Congress yet."

2.Google for Government: Americans have the right to know how their tax dollars are spent, but that information has been hidden from public view for too long. That's why Barack Obama and Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) passed a law to create a Google-like search engine to allow regular people to approximately track federal grants, contracts, earmarks, and loans online. The Chicago Sun-Times wrote, "It would enable the public to see where federal money goes and how it is spent. It's a brilliant idea."

3.Illinois Reform: In 1998, Obama joined forces with former U.S. Sen. Paul Simon (D-IL) to pass the toughest campaign finance law in Illinois history. The legislation banned the personal use of campaign money by Illinois legislators and banned most gifts from lobbyists. Before the law was passed, one organization ranked Illinois worst among 50 states for its campaign finance regulations.

On issue regarding our economy. . .

Housing: In the U.S. Senate, Obama introduced the STOP FRAUD Act to increase penalties for mortgage fraud and provide more protections for low-income homebuyers, well before the current subprime crisis began.

Predatory Lending: In the Illinois State Senate, Obama called attention to predatory lending issues. Obama sponsored legislation to combat predatory payday loans, and he also was credited with lobbying the state to more closely regulate some of the most egregious predatory lending practices.

American Jobs: Barack Obama introduced the Patriot Employer Act of 2007 to provide a tax credit to companies that maintain or increase the number of full-time workers in America relative to those outside the US; maintain their corporate headquarters in America; pay decent wages; prepare workers for retirement; provide health insurance; and support employees who serve in the military.

I used to be a policy debater during my first undergrad degree so I am great at research if you want to know more about the vast amount of work that's on Senator Obama's record I would be happy to inform you or you can inform yourself at hr.gov were all bills proposed and passed are listed. Be informed and be counted!!!
