Obama wins NC, Clinton wins Indiana

  • Obama brings it home in NC, pushing it to the limit in Indiana ... Hillary you're on the clock.
    derk
  • Feels like momentum has shifted yet again. And Obama's faith in the voter's ability to see past the distractions and pandering seems to be well placed. Look for the super delegates to take notice in the next couple of days.

  • YESS WE CAN.... Im so happy all the stupid bullsh*t issues the media is focusing on didnt hurt Obama too bad. They need to focus in on the real issues. What about foreign affairs, deflating currency, IRAQ, and actual issues about the rest of the world. I was so amazed to see all the crap we ideally listen to on our news channels until the next natural disaster occurs. GIVE ME REAL NEWS

    GO OBAMA

  • Give Hillary Credit. Her speech was really good. She was somewhat appealing even. She might have won if she had behaved that way all the way through. Obama 08!

  • I agree M_M...good speech. It shows how good she can be when she's not in full on attack mode. McCain can't like what he saw tonight. Let the healing begin.

  • Yes, we can. I hope he wins Indiana just for the Hell of it. He doesn't have to it is just one delegate but I still hope.
    Marilynn_Murray
  • Well, I remember you saying Obama was done a month ago and then again a week ago...so based on your track record, I'm sure you'll understand if I don't hold my breath.
    krag2112
  • IT looks like Krag's vote for Obama and my vote for Obama cancels your vote out anyway. Adjust Obama is going to be our next President.
    Marilynn_Murray
  • where can I hear/see this speech you are talkin about guys?
    jade_azul16
  • He has not said anything about being on the level with either. I bet he tries to out do what they did as president. Would that be a bad thing?
    Marilynn_Murray
  • Jade, I watched it on MSNBC. Tomorrow it will prolly be on You Tube. It was really good, she spoke in a normal feminine voice instead of her irritating voice. I kept thinking if she had behaved that way throughout the campaign she might have won. I actually felt bad for her.
    Marilynn_Murray
  • yes, i think i watched it already. raheim (or sumthin) uploaded it to current

    thank you MM

  • Surprised yet? Indiana went to Clinton, but the margin likely ended the race. As promised Hoosiers rendered a record turnout. More than 1.2 million. It was close, and when polled Hoosiers were up on the issues. Hoosiers weren't thrown by the gas tax. Believe me thats a big factor. A simmilar holiday won a popular governership in the nineties back when gas was still bellow two dollars. Indiana is known as the crossroads of America, and we have more interstate arteries than any other state. Billions in tourism dollars come from motorsports that are highly linked to the favors of car companies and long distance drivers. The fact that at the weakest point in Obama's campaign with a populist move such as the gas tax holiday Hoosiers weren't fooled speaks volumes and proves everything I told you all about them. A close but fair decision that bodes well for party unity despite the close decision. I think this is a win for everyone tonight.

  • Ok JohnA, we get it. You don't like Obama.

At this rate, it looks like he will get the democratic nomination. Personally, I'd rather vote for him instead of McPainInTheAss.

Forgive me for not believing the prophecy, but we'll see who wins come November, and what happens afterward.
  • well for all it's worth, if this race continues any longer, it won't matter who is nominated because the winner will be John McCain. Hillary Clinton should retire from the race if she wants her party to win. The fact that she's clinging on just prooves that the only thing that matters to her is to realize her personal ambitions. Overall, Obama is winning this and everybody knows it.

and oh yeah, health care? We've seen how good Hillary is at that... at least Obama is not trying to make people believe he will do something that he won't be able to do!

  • Obama is so good, I'm glad people could still see him as he truly is not as the media had tried to make him the wrong.

  • You called it ocanada and your state came though, if not quite enough to give Obama the win, enough to bring this thing to an end very soon.

John, I'm not placing bets on the outcome. I'll only say what I said a month ago when you predicted Obama's demise and then again a week ago when you claimed he was "toast". We'll see...we'll see.

I give you credit though...you aren't shy in your predictions. Even when proven wrong. Go on, get back up on that horse.

  • Marilynn Murray, you make my day. That's exactly what we all need: healing. I believe Obama can bring exactly that to our country and to the world as a whole.

  • Yes we can. Doubters say what you may it's not about Obama he's just the vehicle for the people. Which is a what he's been trying to tell you haters all the time. We have power in numbers from the bottom up . . . maybe if you guys have more faith and hope than you can see the possibility of WE!!!!

    YES WE CAN Obama '08!!!!!

  • I love the lively discussion on this thread! I just gave another fifty bucks to Obama! I think my summer plans spell O-B-A-M-A
    Julie_Soller
  • Me too Julie ($25) after his speech last night. I'm ready for the campaign to shift its attention over to McCain. The question is, will Clinton allow that to happen?
    krag2112
  • 25 from me to Obama too.

I like how Hillary keeps suggesting that he is far outspending her. And though he is, it's my money, Krag's money, Julie's money.

    No corporate barbs.

  • i guess Obama (unlike some) doesn't have 11 million of personal expendable income to use for his campaign.

  • Something to watch out for: stepped up "fear" mongering. The extreme right wingers have already started the "what will you do when the next attack comes?" ads. In Arizona there is nothing but conservative radio to listen to. New Mexico's not much better. The radio fear ads on 99.5 began today. Think the right-wing extremists are feeling threatened by Obama's victory? I take this as a VERY good sign that Obama will win in November!! I'm grateful to the North Carolina and Indiana voters for seeing through the cxxp and voting for change. The right-wingers that govern by fear will only pick up the pace between now and November. Their wildest "dream" would be another catastrophe so they could hope to control us with fear once again.

  • Hillary really needs to get the heck out of the race and stop thinking of herself and what SHE wants. It's time for her to step down and do the right thing for the USA, not for her own selfish reasons!

    OBAMA 08!
    Grain_Of_Sand
  • i don't see why this was posted anyway. neither will, or should be president. and ill tell you why.

Clinton: overpowering woman with one thing in mind. power. you know that the reason she wants to get back into the white house is because, one, she would be the first female president. and two, she wants to be the successor of her husband in finishing the destruction of our country.
we all know the expression, behind ever great man there is a greater woman. in this case it should go; power crazed, egotistical, sexist bitch stepping in front of her fuck up husband.
Clinton is poison to our nation.

Oboma: what can i say. not much. why? because i can't be accused of being raciest. the fuck i can't. i don't care if that accusation is made. im not and i know it. the fact that he is black makes no difference. that is no reason to not bash on him. color makes no difference. i see no black no white. all i see is gray.
no that the color issue is out of the way lets look at what he does in his spare time. did you know that Oboma, for the past sixteen years has contributed large sums of money to a certain organization. the name of which will remain untold. this sounds charitable. however this organization direcly funds a group or terrorist in the middle east called jush-poka. that fact is not hidden to those that give money.
now i ask you. why would we want a president that funds the very fear that we American's are fighting against.
aside from that; Obama claims, has done so on many occasions, that he believes that those that fight against the U.S. have right to do as they will and we (American's) should only try to control our own nation and no other. What!? so in other words we should just roll over and wait to be destroyed?

if you ask me both of these mentally blocked idiots have no business even thinking about the election. there is nothing that they could do for our country except damage it.

  • Thank you Grain_Of_Sand, I couldn't have said it better myself. Lets just add selfishness to ole Hillary's traits. I think she just doesn't want to go home and face that she is alone with Bill. Just the two of them staring at each other. Ewe, the fun.

(Just kidding! I'm proud of my home state. Er, most of the time.)

  • The thing I'm most excited about is that Barack Obama is encouraging so many african americans to vote in the south that there is the real possibility of the democrats carrying the south in the general election.

  • Obama had a clean sweep in NC and Indiana was a close race.I really really hope he is the next President.

  • I wonder what Obama would have done in Indiana if the Limbaugh spoilers hadn't voted?
  • what do you think would happen if she goes for the V P and he gets elected. scarey huh!
    arizonamike
  • Likely the turnout would have been around the same MM, though its specter and the fact that the two split the delegates evenly in the state, and he won more superdelegates from the state, it amounts to a greater loss in ther metric than if she'd lost but netted superdelegates. The spectre of operation chaos though probabmy nonexistant is something that certainly taints her victory and probably hurts her in both media perception and perception amongst super delegates.

  • It wasn't non existent here in Texas Ocanada. They crossed over in pretty good numbers. It was so obvious because the room was full of voters black and white talking about who they were supporting, and being friendly when the Republicans started filing in. They didn't attempt to join in, or even smile. One woman was even holding her coat tails in close to herself apparently so Democrat cooties wouldn't get on her. I positioned myself to watch and see who they voted for because they hung together. Here you just write in your candidate and voter registration card number out on sheets of paper in the open on tables. Every one I managed to see was for Hillary. It did make a difference here. Every Republican I personally know voted for Obama. I don't know any Limbaugh listening type people. We need to change our election laws, so there is no open primary, or Super Delegates. The election process should be uniform across the whole country. I will admit that I liked voting twice. I liked the caucus. But I wouldn't give up my paper ballot to do it.
  • krag2112 does it again.
