Burma cyclone: up to 50,000 dead and millions homeless, but still no call for aid

  • According to Sky, International aid agency workers have begun an operation to supply food to over one million homeless Burma residents.

Speaking on behalf of the UN's World Food Program, the agency's director said:
"WFP food assistance has now begun to reach persons who are without shelter or food resources in and around Yangon."

  • Serious conditions require serious response. We've got to get better at dealing with catastrophes...there's more in the works.

  • What the leaders of this country are doing is beyond reprehensible. The United Nations must put pressure on them to allow aid to these people! And I agree with you, 24French. Climate change will bring devastating changes to this planet. How will we ever deal with them if we cannot deal with this?
