The Bluetooth wireless technology that allows people to use a hands-free earpiece while making a mobile telephone call could soon alert the emergency services when someone has a heart attack, Ofcom predicts.

This is a really cool idea, you think they'll be able to remotely give you a 'jump start' in the future?

anyone who implants a device in their body that connects to the INTERNET* is just asking for it .

As long as people don't end up relying on devices like this as the only means of notification, then there's no problem that I can see.
You don't want to stop visiting people who are ill and at risk because the device should tell you if something goes wrong. The device could malfunction, the bluetooth receiver could fail, the program responsible for sending notifications could stop working. That said, it would still be very useful, because without it, someone could have a heart attack in a situation where no-one is around and could have their life saved by a tiny device. -
Great idea, especially if the victim is alone during the heart attack. Many lives could be saved with this technology.
