Now that weed is getting stronger Big Brother is going to put you behind bars for a longer time if you get busted.

I just don't understand how a pothead could end up with a 5 year sentence when there are rapists and child molesters that get off with less... if your a priest you may get off completely!
-
This is absolutely insane. Marijuana usage is not on par with rape, murder and molestation, and should not be treated as such.

Check out this pod on the Cannabis Granny, who was sentenced to 250 hours of community service and fined £1000 for being found in possession of and growing cannabis.

it means nothing...
its simply posturing by the government.
err, hello, there's an election on the horizon...
plus, there isnt a space left in the uk prison system to house all the 'criminals' ... -
Legalization cuts into "their" profits too much. What are the main currencies on earth right now? One CIA defector says "Gold, Oil and drugs". The big boys would lose a lot of cash from sales as well as incarceration in privatized prisons were they to ease up on a weed that used to grow all over the planet. Also, pharmaceutical companies do not want it legal.

I'm sure this has nothing to do with Labour trying to claw back some voters after being given a thorough drubbing in the Mayoral elections. I can't see how it's really going to make any difference, police have already stated that they won't be changing their "confiscate & warn" policy. This is nothing but a P.R. exercise.
-
Thats gotta be one of the biggest contradictions ive heard...
"I'm sure this has nothing to do with Labour trying to claw back some voters" ..
"This is nothing but a P.R. exercise."
Sounds spookily accurate to me !! =) -
you know its funny, they did something similar during the cold war with their pro yank facist govt. 's the CIA set up.
in el salvador they trained some figures key to the terror of the populace in the NYPD. they executed people for smoking marijuana and had drunkard nationalists militias running round. they got alot of key figures to the left, inteligenstia and students in that tactic. i dont think marijuana is a drug the government actively tried to make its business. -
The only reason pot is illegal, is because the gov. can not tax it.
-
of course they could tax it...
they just dont because making it legal would be much more costly for the rest of the economy. legal hemp would bring the petro-chemical and pharmaceutical industries to their knees...
it wont ever be legal for that reason alone. -
They sure as hell make the strongest liquer they can in all forms which in turn creates stronger far reaching social problems of all kind. So now they're afraid people will be too mellow? OK, this makes sense now.
