Horny old people that live in communities with low risk of pregnancy (due to the age of the females) and have plenty of viagra to go around are piling on the STDs. A doctor says she's seen more cases of herpes in Orlando than in Miami...

  • Most people don't know that your second peak hits later in life.... a lot later in life.

    I worked at a community center for older adults leading afternoon activities and discussions. One of my participants made no effort to hide his relationships. He even took all 4 of his girlfriends out to dinner at one time... LOL.

  • maybe seniors should be given sex-ed classes...seeing as how we can't teach younger generations enought to keep themselves safe from STD's we mine as well let grandma and grandpa run their last mile....

    I would agree with freedomisfree that they need some sort of awareness. I also deeply support their right to get down with their bad old selves.

    I mean when I'm 80 I'm going to do my hardest to be my retirement home's lounge pimp.

    I think a lot of the older generations were not exposed to as much sexual education and awareness as we are today. I think when they are exposed to it in many ways they shell up and switch off.

    Nothing like a case of herpes to make one think, "Hey I should have listened to all the 'pornographic' news broadcasts that I so blindly changed channels on!"

  • why aren't these "communities" handling this? After all one moves into a community for safety reasons, not being alone. therefore that safety should include sex ed.

  • I always thought the "dorm like" atmosphere of retirement homes were somewhat reminiscent of college ... ! Just hope I never a see a sock on a door handle when I'm visiting grandma.

    Honestly using a condom at 16 or 90 should be common sense, STD's dont disappear after a certain age, and getting one is just irresponsible at any age! In fact shame on you Grandma! Hows your grandaughter Elli gonna feel when mom tells her "Grandma cant come over cause she's got pubic lice!
