Even if this is too far to travel, the info may be of interest to read. There is a message I'd like to share with you and all my Gaia Friends with connections to Native Americans. I've copy/pasted material from a personal friend of mine and am using it to explain and share with everyone here. It might be a wonderful opportunity for Community Members here to connect in person. The website address http://www.buffalomessengers.org. It has official statements from several Native American Spiritual Leaders from around the country regarding the buffaloes' births. May I suggest you read the Ugalla's statement first? It is the most impressive. Keep in mind that natives don't do or say anything without taking it into ceremony and praying about it first. These statements are the result of praying about the buffaloes.

The purpose of the powwow is twofold: first it's an awareness campaign. The message the buffaloes bring is one of dire emergency for all people not just Natives. The earth is in a state of emergency, and people need more awareness as to how desperate the situation has become. The second purpose the powwow has is it's serving as a fundraiser for us to build a spiritual center. I have been asked to start and lead a nonprofit organization for this purpose. The spiritual center will house spiritual leaders as they come to the east to visit the buffaloes, and will also serve as a teaching center. The teaching will be done by elders and leaders. They will be teaching traditional native ways to any and all children.

Justina shared with me, “Hawk is my partner in all of this. He was asked by David Swallow Jr, Lakota Spiritual Leader from Pine Ridge, SD, to take care of the buffaloes. I met Hawk last November, and have become his right hand in this project.”

There have been some other developments recently regarding the powwow. I have been in touch with the PA coordinator of The Longest Walk II. We will be hosting the walkers at our powwow on Saturday. They will address the audience to explain their purpose. A link to their website is on our website so you can check them out too. Also we just got word from Chief Leonard Crowdog that he will be attending and camping with us, Hawk said he's the second most powerful Holy man in the country! So as you see this is not just an ordinary powwow.

MUCH is happening. I do hope you can make it down for the powwow it's going to be HUGE. We have a big field we're using for primitive camping, so come on down. Maybe we can all separately plan to drive over together or plan to connect there as a small group to take in the event and meet one another?? Any thoughts?

Let me know what you all think. This is all going down on the weekend of the Summer Solstice. Personally since My Sister was quite devoted to Native Traditions this feels like a wonderful way to honor what would have been her 40th Birthday on June 26th by sharing this info to connect other Friends together even if I end up unable to attend for any reason.
