During an interview this morning on NPR, former Vice President Al Gore criticized Bush, stating that his use of signing statements is “a raw assertion of authority outside the boundaries of the law”.
Why isn't impeachment openly on the political table? Perhaps Obama will call for it, now that Hilary is getting out of the way?

Someone tell me why Impeachment is off the table and why Pelosi made that statement immediately upon her becomming speaker. Sometimes I think she is in bed with the republicans. The worst and most evil lawbreaking president in the history of America and Impeachment is off the table. I smell a rat here. Impeach him and Cheney then imprison them and make sure they have no breeding capabilities.

Finally someone is speaking out in the media. I have no idea why Bush's open conversations and approval of known torture has gone unchallenged in the media. Why aren't we calling for Bush's Impeachment?

It is way past time to bring this issue to the forefront!

Gore/Edwards or Gore/Obama would be a sure thing shoo-in for president.

Where are the people in standing up to this? We need much more than a "dream ticket" to rectify this. Why are the people on the whole so afraid to speak out?

Obama said that as president he would indeed ask his new Attorney General and his deputies to "immediately review the information that's already there" and determine if an inquiry is warranted -- but he also tread carefully on the issue, in line with his reputation for seeking to bridge the partisan divide. He worried that such a probe could be spun as "a partisan witch hunt." However, he said that equation changes if there was willful criminality, because "nobody is above the law."
