Barack Obama won a resounding 14-point victory over Clinton in North Carolina on Tuesday, while losing by less than 2-points in Indiana. "We now know who the Democratic nominee is going to be...it's Obama," NBC's Tim Russert declared on television late last night.
The article includes a number of wonderful photographs, videos of Barack Obama's North Carolina victory speech and of Tim Russert's television report, music audio and an amazing photo-gallery.

Congratulations President John McCain.
-
Right.. McCain is totally the best guy for the job.. He got shot down in the first hour of a mission.. He wants to keep us in the middle east longer, create more tax breaks for the wealthy, and get older.. What a hero.

Now can we move past the bickering and start trashing on Republicans again?
-
Let's hope Hilary faces reality faster than Mugabe.

10 things you should know about John McCain (but probably don't):
1. John McCain voted against establishing a national holiday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Now he says his position has "evolved," yet he's continued to oppose key civil rights laws.1
2. According to Bloomberg News, McCain is more hawkish than Bush on Iraq, Russia and China. Conservative columnist Pat Buchanan says McCain "will make Cheney look like Gandhi."2
3. His reputation is built on his opposition to torture, but McCain voted against a bill to ban waterboarding, and then applauded President Bush for vetoing that ban.3
4. McCain opposes a woman's right to choose. He said, "I do not support Roe versus Wade. It should be overturned."4
5. The Children's Defense Fund rated McCain as the worst senator in Congress for children. He voted against the children's health care bill last year, then defended Bush's veto of the bill.5
6. He's one of the richest people in a Senate filled with millionaires. The Associated Press reports he and his wife own at least eight homes! Yet McCain says the solution to the housing crisis is for people facing foreclosure to get a "second job" and skip their vacations.6
7. Many of McCain's fellow Republican senators say he's too reckless to be commander in chief. One Republican senator said: "The thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine. He's erratic. He's hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me."7
8. McCain talks a lot about taking on special interests, but his campaign manager and top advisers are actually lobbyists. The government watchdog group Public Citizen says McCain has 59 lobbyists raising money for his campaign, more than any of the other presidential candidates.8
9. McCain has sought closer ties to the extreme religious right in recent years. The pastor McCain calls his "spiritual guide," Rod Parsley, believes America's founding mission is to destroy Islam, which he calls a "false religion." McCain sought the political support of right-wing preacher John Hagee, who believes Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment for gay rights and called the Catholic Church "the Antichrist" and a "false cult."9
10. He positions himself as pro-environment, but he scored a 0—yes, zero—from the League of Conservation Voters last year.10-

Obama needs to quit the Presidential race for his own good and for the good of the country for the following reasons:
- The Hilary Campaign managers have so much dirt on Obama, including links with the Mafia and solicitation of prositutes. They are just waiting for the right timing - just before the Convention - the dish them out.
- The Republicans have even more dirt on Obama - they are just hoping that Obama wins the Primary to that they can dish them out just before the election. Obama cannot win the General Election. There are just too much dirt on him
- The jews will arrange for Obama to be assasinated before the Convention. They do not trust a person with Muslim heritage to protect their interest. Obama should get out before he becomes another Martin Luther King.
- The Muslims are waiting to wait for Obama to become elected so that they can blackmail him to do what they want him the do - he has so much links to the Black Muslims and Mafia that he will have no choice but the do what they want him to do. Obama will be their Trojan Horse into Western Democracy. It is their best chance to destroy us.

JOE0276

Obama is the best man for the job. People don't won't him in there becuse they are racist. They would rather spend another four years of hell with McCain(who is another Preident Bush ) than to put a black man in.
Look people I am tried of people that use the American people for their own ego. WE NEED CHANGE!!They want to talk about who has the most experience or whatever . Bush got experience but he did not look out for us. He isn't doing anything about people losing their homes, gas prices, and our soliders. -
Lifterbaron, I am a white 55 male with PhD and MBA - by all demographic statistics, I should be a Obama supporter, but I am definitely not. Events of the next two months will reveal who the delusionary juvenile is .. wake up and smell the roses .. it is not an episode from 24 .. it is a reality show!
-
Joe ... who cares?
You are 1 person who isn't voting for Obama. Great. We get it. You defy your demographic. However my Mom is an 86 year old white lady who defies the demographics as well SHE IS Voting OBAMA 100%. My Dad's friend is a white life long republican war vet - voting OBAMA.

Unlike the the utter fool, "ronenA", A=Jackass, Hillary will will win, And by June 10th, 2008 , ALL votes from Michigan and Florida , will be approved (DNC meeting May31, 2008), if they are not approved , 'It would be a violation of Our Constitution, and our Bill of Rights", and Jackasses like ronenA, and all the Black voters whom are voting for a Black first term Senator , simply because he is Black, it won't happen, Not one Person in Office in this great nation , would violate either one , not one!!! And by the last chance in hell HE SHOULD WIN, every Democrat, who are voting for hillary , would vote republican, and thats a FACT!!! Obama will never be President. It isn't going to happen LOL

I don't get people who claim they plan on voting for McCain if they can't vote for Hillary.
Obama is a Red Delicious apple.
Hillary is a Granny Smith apple.
And John McCain is a massive turd on whole wheat bread. A shit sandwhich (chips and drink not included)
So....no, voting for McCain is not the "next bext thing" to voting for Hillary.
You really have to question a person's taste buds if they think a shit sandwhich tastes exactly the same as a crunchy apple.
----
Here's another idea: the Hillary people (sound slike a monster movie) claim that she has overwhelming support everywhere in America.
Well, wouldn't it make more sense to write her name on the ballot as a write in candidate? Seems like a more palatable idea than chocking down a nice warm shit sandwhich and saying, "Take that Obama!" -
Joe, have you re-upped your Globe Magazine subscription? Hate for you to run out of material.

Ya that was good crob. :)
As for nativeAmerican, and and Joe0276 we understand that our Democratic party has Xenopobics and Rasists in it like your selves and as crob says if you raely want a big fat bite of shit sandwitch go and vote McCain when we nominate Obama. And we will nominate Obama, because he has the most delegates and popular vote. As for all those who think it unfair to change the rules everyone in all the 50 states agread to mounths before the primarys, suck it up, hears a violin and a purple haert bleading purple piss. :)
Oh ya one more thing i have met so many republicans that are voting for Obama in the general election that any of these so called xenopobic, rasist Democrats that decide they like the taste of shit sandwich will be replaced by apple loving republicans. -
this was a great post to read alot of difference in opinion, but get real kids Obama isnt going to win, and you know why? yep you guessed it Amercia still bleads hatred for the black man. as discusting as that is it's tru. So all you kids in your dorm rooms who probably will end up not voting, as usual. Stop arguing with the racist because they are right, but in a vile way. Sorry
and for shits sake if i mispelled a word can the spell patrol not blow a whistle... I thought this was AMERICA -
I don't know what you people are talking about. When this first started I figured Obama couldn't win the South. How wrong I was, EVERY Republican I know here in Texas is planning to vote for Obama. Don't try to figure other people out, it never works. People want change and Obama represents that more than anyone else.

Matt Gonzalez-Barack Obama: The Establishment's Candidate
Matt can't take Barack as a serious candidate for change because:
*The ruling class (establishment) is satisfied with him as a candidate as he has demonstrated he is willing to protect their interests.
*Barack supported the Bush/Cheney 2005 energy policy act giving tax breaks and subsidies to fossil fuel producers which has resulted in over $40 Billion in profits for Exxon Mobile this past year alone (a record). There was more money given to fossil fuel producers then there was set aside for alternative fuels or conservation/efficiency. $4 Billion in subsidies and tax breaks was give to the nuclear industry, an industry that Obama is a big supporter of. The nuke industry executives in Illinois have donated copious amounts of money to Barack's campaign.
*Obama voted for the class action reform act, a Republican bill, which made it harder to bring class action law suits to court (hurting the little guy).
*Obama supported limits on pain and suffering in personal injury cases (hurting the little guy).
*Obama opposed laws to require mining companies to pay royalties when mining hard rock minerals on PUBLIC LANDS (i.e. the mining companies then turn around and make a profit on what was ours).
The 'change' Obama is for is uniting the Corporate Democrats to the Corporate Republicans and leaving you and me out in the radioactive rain.recommended by JanforGore -
can he win the electoral votes to be elected??

Thanks futuregen for listing some of the ways Senator Obama has proved he won't bring change that involves bucking corporate interests.
I, like Matt Gonzales, can't take Barack as a serious candidate for change. He has proven with the decisions and votes you listed above that his change is not truly committed to renewable sustainable energy.
It is clear that Obama's change does not include abandoning giving tax breaks and subsidies to polluting and carcinogenic nuclear and fossil fuel energy and choosing renewable green energy ,and is not the one that is sustainable.
*The ruling class (establishment) is satisfied with him as a candidate as he has demonstrated he is willing to protect their interests. "
Follow the link to Senator Obama telling the story of the "only nuclear energy bill he passed. But didn't.
He goes on to eloquently define an energy policy I could agree with, if I trusted his silver tongue and didn't research how his actions and association with Excelon through his chief promoter and strategist David Axelrod, don't match what he's telling voters.
