Anti-abortion display at cemetery stirs up controversy

  • "'I don't agree with this, but they have just as much right to be here as the Pro-Choice Alliance,' said student Colleen Kiefer."

That's very true, but as the guy points out in the video, what if someone going through an abortion was to see this? What boundaries do you draw for freedom of speech?

  • Completely agree Simon. I'm all for thought provoking art, but this sets a very hostile environment for those who have had or are going through an abortion. The fact that the school allowed this to be put up without taking into consideration the pain/shame it could cause to other students is showing the sad state their administration is in. Schools should be a place where everybody feels welcome and accepted not shamed.

  • i have to disagree, i think there was nothing wrong with it even if it maid a woman "feel-bad". If we based the limitations of freedom of speech on "feelings" then it could be stretched endlessly. the pro-choice slogans, banners, signs and smbols might make a pro-life advocate "feel-bad". Controversy is what gets people thinking and a campus is the perfect place for it.

  • I understand the reason to protest but they shouldnt disrespect the students who live on campus like that.
