Amputee vets set to cruise on Segways
Some injured US vets are ditching their wheelchairs for specially designed Segways.
The machines normally cost $6,000, but a non-profit group called DRAFT, has been able to aqcuire them at a discounted price.
The program is called "Segs-4-Vets" and has helped 30 soldiers so far.
One vet says he "can ditch his wheelchair and get around without people looking down on him."

I hope they are 'made in America'. What a great invention! For vets it may help to open doors that would normally be closed. Changing lives one segway at a time. The individual who created the segway also designed a wheelchair that is remarkable. It climbs stairs and can raise to a hight that they can shake hands with the fellow man on an equal level. I hope caring Americans donate and help other vets who cannot stand, gain access to those wonderful wheelchairs.
Great, our vets deserve to travel without a wheelchair if it's possible. This looks like a definite possibility.
