  • Did you see anything good? Why you choose that specific charity would have been nice to know as well.

  • Refusing aid really isn't the best PR strategy...

  • For some people, the news surrounding the cyclone was the first time they've ever heard of Myanmar.

  • I know it's been hard to get up to date info and photos from some of the places in Myanmar that were hardest hit last week, but it was really interesting to see what living conditions were like before the cyclone. From this pod I was able to imagine what kinds of mayhem and damage were left in its wake. Thanks for sharing this, and I can't wait to see the entire Vanguard Special.

The people of Myanmar will remain in my thoughts and best wishes. I hope their suffering will end soon.

  • No human should be faced with such lack of infrastructure in the 21st century

  • wow. powerful piece. I was in Burma a year ago. I was shocked to learn how the government closes schools and universities arbitrarily, just to disrupt the education process and weaken the populace.
  • I live in Cleveland Ohio and my local paper, the Plain Dealer covered the destruction in Myanmar next to the decadence of the Bush wedding. My husband told me I should write the editor and voice my opinion. They used poor judgment in the placement of Myanmar and George W. daughter’s wedding on the same page.

  • I think, that there military gov., that is taking the food and aid, is using it for themselves, and giving the scraps to the lower class and poor people. Which i think is ridiculous, we would need to find a country that is in good terms with the Myanmar gov. and give them the supplies for them to transport which will keep hostilities at a very minimum.

  • Watching this piece about Myanmar, and listening to how thier government treats its own people, whoa how fates takes over......but speaking of governments...how is it that Hurricane Katrina survivors had to wait five days, and the people of Myanmar recieve thier supplies within the snap of a finger......awwww now that makes you think... maybe Kanye had a point about.......

  • This was a good pod. It was informative and useful. Military rule is always a bad idea. It seems to work for a while, even years but in the end it has caused far more damage than helped.

Americans should be grateful that they can complain about their government in the manner that they do instead of being shut down like they do in Burma under Military rule.

  • The people don't know what's going on in their own country and their own government because of the lack of information. These days you can't be on almost any website without seeing something about the upcoming election.
  • I thought the story was most interesting, for Laura Ling to post as a tourist and was able to compose such fascinateing story was really amazing. I enjoy her style of story telling and production.
