"Battle at Kruger" is a thrilling documentary made by a tourist on a safari in South Africa’s Kruger National Park. This spine-tingling, astonishing documentary shows a pride of lions attacking a baby wild buffalo, and the entire ensuing breathtaking battle that then took place between the group of lions, the buffalo herd and two crocodiles at a watering hole in Kruger National Park.

After the pride of lions and crocodiles had pinned down the helpless cape buffalo calf, the angry herd of buffalo was prompted by the attack to fight off the predators and it eventually saved the babe.

The video won a "2008 YouTube Video Award" in the Eyewitness Category, and now it will air as a National Geographic Television Special on Sunday night, May 11th.

  • I wouldn't exactly call it a "documentary", but it is the only youtube video I know to get more than 30 million hits. It appears to have been picked up by National Geographic too. pretty cool.
