Kosovas Son-in-Law, an American immigrant who has built his new life and family in Kosova, bears witness to the historic events surrounding Kosovas declaration of independence. This is an Albanian perspective on this controversial issue.

The only problem with this is the fact that the land was stolen from the Serbs. Serbia unfortunately opened its borders back in the day and the Islamic immigrants who flooded the area started breading out of control. This was a good deal for them – since the more children they spawned the more money they received from the Serbian government.
Once their numbers were large enough they started pushing out the Serbs from the region – at first offering to buy their lands, and for those who refused – they started burning or killing them out. Any country – I don't care where your from - if this happened to you – you would take up arms and fight back, and that's exactly what the Serbs did. This region is some of the oldest and most cherished areas of Serbia with their accent Orthodox churches, and beautiful surroundings. I can guarantee that these will be destroyed now that these invading groups have overpopulated it and declared it their own.
Imagine if Mexican immigrants decided to break off California and declare it their own country – you think the US would ethnically cleanse them?
It's sick to see the media spin this story the wrong way without telling the whole truth of the matter.. I especially like how in this video they left the part out where once the Serbs who were bombed by the US left the region and the United Nations took control – how the Albanians started attacking the United Nations forces..
Truth hurts & there is just no denying it.. So people please – do some research, don't believe everything you read or hear.. I'm sure the Mexicans would be celebrating too if they thought they just declared California as their own sovereign nation. -
Actually rebottling the comment above that is pure Serbian Propaganda!
As mentioned in this video Kosova became part of Yugoslavia in 1912 just like Slovenia, Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Croatia etc. Kosova was never part of Serbia it was a FREE COMMUNITY within Yugoslavia where it was promised an autonomous government. However, Slobodan Milosevic (Serbian Leader) had a dream to incorporate all lands surrounding Serbia into ONE - Serbia. So Serbia began a war with Croatia, then with Bosnia -- which is well known as Serbs caused a genocide there. Than after Serbia lost the war with Bosnia and Bosnia became independent Kosova was next on the list of attack. Kosova was attacked in 1999 by the Serbian government under Slobodan Milosevic where thousands of Albanian civilians (including women and children) lost their lives in the most horrific ways imaginable such as massacres. (Ethnic cleansing was the goal - to get rid of all Albanians in Kosova).
As for the comment relating about Kosovars with Mexicans in America is absolutley absurd seeing as Kosova was once called DARDANIA (Illyrian tribe) Dardania is an Albanian name, Illyrians are Albanians. If you read any piece of history it proves that Albanians (than referred to as Illyrians) were in current Kosova, Macedonia and Albania since 1000BC, while Serbs migrated from the Carpathian Mountains to the Balkans in 6AD(that is centuries later). So comparing Mexicans in America with Albanians in Kosovo is ridiculous seeing as Albanians were in present Kosovo since the beginning of history, while Serbs came centuries later. If a comparison should be made it should relate Albanians in the Balkans with the first people( or Aboriginals) in America as Albanians were always in Kosova.
As for the "muslim" remark that is false as well. Kosovar Albanians have three different religions: Christian, Orthodox, and Muslims. However, they are a secular nation where they do not relate themselves with any religion they'd rather be known by their nationality first which is Albanian than any religion mentioned above. As seen in this video Kosova is like any other european nation, very secular and free. Religion is not praciticed, all Albanians practice a concept known as Albanianism, which is a practice of allowing the Albanian roots to flourish instead of following a perticular religion.
Kosovars waited for independence for 500 years, they finally got what they deserve - they are truly free at last.
