From Amnesty International's Unsubscribe-Me campaign:

"This film shows a performance artist undergoing, for real, interrogation techniques permitted in the CIA handbook.
WARNING: SOME VIEWERS MAY FIND THIS DISTURBING.
UNSUITABLE FOR UNDER 14s.
Please turn your speakers up.

Waiting For The Guards is the first of 3 films commissioned by Amnesty to highlight the enhanced interrogation techniques used by the CIA in the “War on Terror”.

The Directors approached the making of the film in a way that has never been done before, choosing to show the reality of Stress Positions in as authentic a way as possible. They filmed a person who was put in Stress Positions for over a 6 hour period. There is no acting on the part of the 'prisoner' – his pain and anguish are real.

This powerful film shows without a doubt that what the US administrations say is interrogation is really torture, and must be stopped."

  • Video is not working, but I can imaging what's happening! It's horrible, that's why I joined about 3 months ago, perhaps I should become more active, because all I do is read Amnesty Internationals' e-mails and sign any petitions, but this calls for more action!
  • that video is horrible, truely hard hitting stuff.. hard to imagine such rudementory and sadistic methods are being used on people..

  • This just sickens me, now that I'm able to watch the video. Such grotesque treatments being done to these people, and the public letting it go without question.

Sure, we can sit in front of our computers, drive our BMW's and tell our friends about it, while we go to our white collar jobs and make 6 figures a year and do a daily blog about the torture methods used by the US.

But what's that gonna do? It's going to put the word out; well, that and $4.25 can get you a gallon of gas for your BMW.

It's time to take action; this is my call to arms. I vow to become so much more active in this human rights movement, because I want my children to, one day, grow up in the Country that I have grown to love. The same country that I have grown to despise!

Now, will you be joining me, or not? If not, I will see you in the prison camps built for us.
  • When we resort to these tactics, we are no better than the terrorists we are fighting. The war on terrorism apparently needs to start domestically for it to have any chance of succeeding.

  • Whoa. Real life sure is real.. Will it change the outcome, probably not... Is it worth trying, sure why not.. Are the people who put these films and ads together, hedging the bets.. Absolutely.. Odd..

  • Does anyone else remember the reason the Iranians hate the US so much? It's because in the 1970s we helped the Shah torture their dissidents.

That's why I think torturing anyone is the single most damaging thing America can do to its position in the Middle East.

  • What's really horrible is considering that the man is not suffering the intense fear that goes with it. What kind of animals are we supporting with our tax dollars?

  • Welcome to the new world order...where the truth is always censored by corporate reporters.

  • Torture is one of the most damaging techniques that can be afflicted upon a person. For our country to allow these abuses to be inflicted on others is very upsetting. Torture is truly damaging because it not only hurts the person physically and emotionally, but the biggest part of a human affected is the psychological state to the point where they may even become so traumatized that they may never recover.

  • I enjoy reading people's comments that act like this is a Disney special.. "Torture is bad and it's so bad it can harm people.." no shit. Lets take into consideration torture is an alternative to death.. and it's used under the pretense that the victim is a "bad guy." Obviously things go wrong and torture is excessive and unnecessary in cases .. Im over this..

  • Ingenious way of dealing with the torture debate, by showing it as it actually happens. Good luck to the unsubscribe-me team, you've found another supporter.

  • so Horrible. its also horrible that the word "Torture" and the document the constitution, and the doctrine of Human Rights and the Geneva Convention ALL have been RE-DEFINED to mean the opposite to satisfy the cruel lust of men who think they are God. These men are re-defining what the words Mad and Crazy mean in order to suit their selfish needs.

    I want to re-define WAR:

War: \ˈwȯr\ Etymology:Middle English werre, from Anglo-French werre, guerre, of Germanic origin; akin to Old High German werra strife; akin to Old High German werran to confuse
MY NEW Definition: 1. A cruel act usually carried out to seize land, valuables, money, art as well as natural resources.
    2. Acts carried out by selfish, greedy men leading nations in order to carry out the above.
    3. Acts carried out under false pretenses in order to annihilate/genocide a certain color/religion/nationality of people despite their innocence to take their land, valuables and heritage, example: Nazis with Jews, Israel with Palestinians.
    4. Governments, not the populations nor the majority, that murder, maim, deceive, steal, use force, occupy foreign counties, fool their own countries all in the name of big business/corporations for the single reason of personal monetary gain and power.

  • "Lifterbaron", you need some serious counseling, as well as, an education. You arrogant p***k, I was going to say prick, but you are not worthy of the designation. Who designated you as the judge, jury, and torturer of people that our Constitution, states are "innocent until proven guilty"! Crawl back in the hole of ignorance that you enjoy, due to the sacrifices of real patriots.
