A better alternative to abortion?

Instead of having one, you leave it at this church so they don't result in an unwanted death.

Politicians are now questioning the morals of this practice... Is this just going to raise irresponsibility within couples, or is this something we should have thought about years ago?

The church in Japan wouldn't disclose exactly how many babies have been dropped off since its launch in 2007, but the figure is estimated to be around 16 infants.

  • You have to worry for the mothers really. Who knows what they are going through to bring them to doing this. And with an anonymous drop off we have no way of knowing if they required further help.

  • It's no surprise a mediaeval device is coming back into vogue with misogynistic politicians wailing about abortion as if it's the 1940s. What should be a simple medical procedure is often turned into a traumatising, belittling and shameful experience for women, with even UK doctors foisting their morals onto patients. We're going backwards, instead of forwards. What's next, the return of the bottle of gin method?

  • It is a matter of opinion whether or not this is a better alternative to abortion, but I do think it is a much better alternative to many of the things that can happen to infants born to mothers who cannot, for one reason or another, raise them.

  • Well I would have to say it's better than hearing "Another baby was found in a dumpster"

Overall it's not an excuse and everyone has a reason with their own battles.

We can only hope for the best in the end.
