On Friday, Barack Obama publicly raised the possibility of helping Hillary Clinton pay off more than $25 million in debts, including the $11.42 million she loaned her own campaign to keep it afloat in recent months.
"Historically after a campaign is done and you want to unify the party, particularly when you've had a strong opponent, you want to make sure you're putting that opponent in a strong position so that they can work to win an election in November. So, obviously, I would want to have a broad range of discussions with Senator Clinton about how I could make her feel good about
the process and have her on the team moving forward."
Talking to reporters in front of a Mexican restaurant in Woodburn, Oregon, the Illinois Senator warned that such discussions are "premature right now. She's still actively running and we've still got business to do right here in Oregon and in other states."
The Clinton campaign dismissed out-of-hand any talk of Obama helping Clinton with her debts. "We are running a competitive primary race," said spokesman Phil Singer. "We have seen the dangers of declaring 'mission accomplished' before."

You have got to be kidding me!! So, this candidate for "change" is actually considering buying his opponent off to win her support? So sad to watch the sheepskin come off.
And to see those poor supporters:
"Ken" from Wagoner, Okla., wrote: "I am also reading Sen. Obama is considering Hillary for his VICE !!! I am wondering what has happened to Sen. Obama, has he gone BONKERS? I pray he has nothing to do with the Clinton's or their financial problems !!!"
He hasn't gone bonkers...he's just another politician that used a catch phrase to convince voters he was different (that's what they do). -
Although I don't like the idea, I do think it's an example of creative thinking. To be a unifier you have to compromise and find ways for people to save face.

The Ripusoffican's are here in our midst and in full force - anjela3.
You are divisive and attempting to manipulate the American public. Don't you think we've caught on to those dysfunctional / criminal / psychopathic tactics?
The "Divide and Conquer" brigade of the Ripusoffican era is done, history or in the words of the wonderful French, fini! The United States has been there and done that, we've all got the blood stained T-shirts to prove it - now take a hike evil one.-

Great plan as a leader you would have to admit. In the even of him being the primary he will need great resources like Clinton in the team.
So you can't hate on him, hes just playing the political game. Unfortunately Money talks and makes allies. -
Oh look, after calling us uneducated racist rednecks for six months, now the Obama groupies want to unite with us. Well isn't that special. Thanks, but no thanks.

Why personal attacks on and insults to angela_3?
Anyone who tries to enter the current discussion with an opinion that does not endorse Obama is bullied by the Obama camp.
This is a pattern that does not reflect the Obama camp claiming the high ground. -
Looking at the statistics...Obama is more than likely going to win the democratic vote. No question. Obama's proposal is not meant to insult Hillary. We've all got to face the facts. At least he's trying his best to unify the party.

Why would Obama with all the money in the world leave a fellow Democrat and her venders holding the bag? Just as soon as he is proclaimed the winner the money will come pouring in to him. It has already dried up for Hillary. She has had to loan her campaign 11.4 million dollars. Sorry the high road includes helping her out.

Touchart, Voyager's comments don't bother me. They actually have nothing to do with me. They DO, however, have everything to do with Voyager. This type of comment is expected from Obama supporters. I've actually never seen any other type of comments made by Obama supporters (towards Clinton supporters). Since I'm obviously not one of "them", I does make me wonder WTF? I'm just not that confused.
Since this is the only type of comment coming from Obama supporters, there is no choice other than to believe that the Obama camp, while proclaiming to take the high ground, is highly invested in the low ground. This means I believe that the comments are low ground, but since they didn't come from me they are actually not my problem.
And I don't actually think bailing her out is the high road....it is the same political road Obama claims to be changing...buying people off. It is politics as usual...and as is usual, can be spun to be whatever one wishes it to be. -
It seems like the impression of obama supporters is negative. Is that accurate to say, when you present an affirmative reason for supporting Hillary it is disregarded by obama fans and is not recognized as valid. and to top it off there are so much name calling and fallicies flying around too.

I seldom see anything about "Clinton supporters" posted. I don't believe I've ever used that term. I do however see a lot a remarks about "Obama supporters." Don't you think it's getting to be time we just became Democrats and support the party and the candidate, whichever it may be? It is getting to be time to focus on McCain and why people shouldn't vote for him. There is plenty to research and tell about there. Then look up our canidate again and find out why people should vote for them. BTW, bailing her out is not required, so yes it would be the high ground.
