Knitting a Dr. Who scarf? No way, says the BBC.

The BBC has demanded that fans take down knitting patterns based on the show Dr. Who. The patterns--which were available for free--were based on characters from the show.
The BBC is understandably concerned about copyright violations, but this seems a bit extreme. No money was being made from these patterns, and all this is doing is alienating fans who want to knit an adipose of their very own.

It's interesting because it is so laughable.
The good news is that no matter how hard the BBC jumps up and down, spitting the dummy over some poor sod wanting to knit a long scarf, they can't stop anyone from doing it.
I'd like to see some sort of "Thumbs Down" in the media from time to time about such ludicrous attitudes.
And who needs a ruddy pattern? Just cast on some stitches and knit and knit and knit.
Fair crack of the whip.
That sort of thinking is starting to make me think that maybe we really do need to become a Republic and distance us ever more from the UK with their stupid infantile behavioiur.
GROW UP BBC.-
