A murder investigation has been launched following the stabbing of a man outside a McDonald's restaurant on London's main shopping street.
Police were reportedly called to the scene at 4.47pm who rushed the victim to St. Thomas' Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
UPDATE:
The altercation was a result of a drink being thrown according to police. Acting Deputy Chief Inspector Bob Mahoney, of the Met Police, spoke on the incident saying that the man, now named as Steven Bigby, was killed after "two groups of black men came together," when "a drink was thrown. The incident escalated very quickly and Steven was fatally stabbed."

This is shocking - every time I'm in London I find myself on that street somehow, and it never seemed dangerous or sketchy in any way. I wonder what the surrounding details might be.

Violence in this country is getting out of control. We are meant to be living in a civilized society and then someone gets stabbed in such a public place. The volume of people that pass through oxford street is mad, so a stabbing here is really quite scary.

this is crazy, oxford street isn't the kind of place i would expect this to happen!

Now we'll see if the CCTV cameras around London prove to be useful.

I can't help but think that the impact of mass immigration has on these events..
I mean, people from violent countries remain violent wherever they are. -
Things aint getting this bad, crime has been this bad in London since the city was founded, we just have better communications and news services now.
The futures bright, help shape it. -
A pair of teenagers were arrested for the stabbing of Steven Bigby, 22, on London's busy Oxford Street on Monday afternoon. Police are calling the death a result of a spontaneous clash that quickly escalated to a fatal incident. They said there is nothing to suggest that this was gang-related crime.
There is no reason, though, that kids should feel they should or have a need to carry weapons. I think that this incident should be a HUGE wake up call to people in Britain. Something to address knife crime and violence among youths must be done.
