A Chinese peasant has made a solar water heater - using only beers bottles and hoses.
The beer bottles lie on a board in rows, all connected by hoses which allow cold water to flow through them and be heated by the sun.

Great idea.
It goes with the Bottle House in Bolivia.
Let's get some easy do-it-yourself plans out to communities.
Spread the word. Collect bottles.
Build bottle houses and bottle hot water heaters.
-
So wait, I can take a hot shower and save the planet, all by drinking beer?
I love the world right now. -
A way to go green and have a great time getting there!
-

if this guy would pick up the shipping , i'll send him enough beer bottles in a year to heat water for Beijing .
-
An excuse to drink... finally!
-
Don't send bottles to China.
Collect them in your neighborhood and build hot water heaters for your mothers and mothers who don't have money for gas or oil or electricity to run their water heaters. -
considering the cost of energy and gas going up, i think this guy is set for life.
-
If its possible w/ beer bottles, then why not vodka and J.D bottles?
*Gets drunk*-

As pointed out by Touchart, look to implement the solution closer to home, Gas prices up 30% atm in UK.
Remember folks, you do not need an excuse to drink beer, It is and always will be your friend. -
I love it!

Save and collect glass and plastic bottles, soda cans and used tires to build homes for play and life.
Check out how beautiful these Earthships in Taos are made of bottles, cans and tires.
Recycle, reuse and build. -

If you want to shower in rum. A bit sticky for my taste.
I really hope this guy puts the plans for it on the interwebs, it's a great piece of DIY.-

Zerox has created this glass which work like a fresnel glass!
They do the same, concentrante the sunlight on a spot, sort of it, but more efficient!
Anyways, you can use fresnel glass to heat your water-directly or inderectly!
watch! dont caugh fire!-
