New voters could redraw the electoral map!

During an April 25 conference call to unveil the Obama campaign's 50-state voter registration drive, deputy campaign manager Steve Hildebrand sounded genuinely exasperated as he tried to steer reporters to the topic at hand.Despite his best efforts, those on the call didn’t request any further details about the effort. No one posed questions about the drive's goals or how the campaign thinks it could affect Obama’s general election prospects. Instead, they brought up the latest distractions: What does the campaign make of Jeremiah Wright’s new comments? Are advisers worried that Obama has a problem attracting working-class white voters? And so on.
The media’s lack of interest is hardly surprising. While voter registration drives are invaluable, they’re also dry and tedious – not that exciting to participate in or to write about.
But some new data indicates that, come November 5, we may find ourselves looking back at this year’s intensive voter mobilization efforts as what put Obama – and down-ballot Democrats nationwide – over the top.

I agree that Obama has the chance to redraw the electoral map. Once he squares off against McCain, the issues will come into sharp contrast.
As always, voters will have a clear choice to make. They will have to choose between hope and fear. Perhaps 8 years of fear based politics will give hope a chance.

Already lost it once?
Right like Bush lost NH to McCain in 2000.
Unless your Hillary screws it for the Dems because she is just too weak to deal with her defeat Obama will win Ohio.As for Florida....I wouldn't want that state if someone gave it to me for free.

Ha! Keep dreaming. What states is he going to pick up? Florida? Duh, no. Ohio? Already lost it once. Southern states? No chance. Rust belt states? Considering he called them uneducated gun toting, bible thumping, hicks, I strongly doubt it. I know, he's pick Richardson VP and take New Mexico, except New Mexico went for Clinton and hispanics don't like africans... Be for real, he loses 30% of Hillarty voters off the top. No way he can improve on 2000 and 2004 maps, and he loses Michigan and Pennsylvania in the process.
