Speaking for the first time about his much publicised and controversial inclusion as a headliner at this years Glastonbury festival.
In a direct response to Noel Gallagher's claims that the hip-hop star wasn't 'suitable' for the festival, speaking to The Sun, Jay-Z said: "We don't play guitars, Noel, but hip-hop has put in its work like any other form of music. This headline show is just a natural progression. Rap music is still evolving."
Jay-Z also reportedly said he couldn't believe the hype that his inclusion on the bill had created, saying that he'd "never ever had a show that's caused this much of a stir " and that he is really looking forward to it."

I'm hearing a lot of complaints about festivals this year because certain people don't "fit the bill". Such as this year's Bonnaroo that includes Kanye West and Metallica and it's kind of upsetting that people can't embrace the diversity of the music these fests want to bring.
Hell, I won't be seeing Metallica when I attend the 'Roo but I still think it's neat to have something different. I think the uproar has more to do with it being Jay-Z than it being hip-hop in general. If they put Talib Kweli or the Roots up there, I think it'd be less of a big deal. I think people see the realness in artists like those as apposed to this big superstar rapper like Jay-Z.
