i don't really care for any of the candidates still in - i wanted Ron Paul - what this country needed was a soft republican who'd swing the Bush apparatus around to a more moderate stance ( whatever that would have been ) - as it is , you have 2 dem's who will , if either wins , be having to deal with a war machine , and one which is very wary of democrats - or , one can have McCain , who'll fit in just fine - in an ideal world , Paul would get in office , the machine would be more inclined to listen to him , and THEN the time would be ripe for Obama , after Paul was out .
in the meantime , you have a Bush , giving up golf . personally , i would love Bush , and be inclined to worship the guy , if the last thing he did with US foreign policy before he left office was to re-direct US military thinking towards covert ops. instead of full scale invasions - i'm not talking about "puppet" dictators , i mean just killing a fascist , waiting for the public of the place to do what they will , and continue assassinating leaders until the people actually want to be occupied . Burma would be a perfect testing ground , followed by N. Korea , and then ... who knows

i was working to overcome the need for me to comment as i did too , Conniepae , by spraying Ron Paul stencils on cardboard and stapling them all over my town - but it didn't work - the american public is just as stupid now as it was before 9 / 11 . so be it .

Actually, Bush didn't give up golf. He was seen In October, just months after that comment playing golf. THe only logical sacrifice that Bush can make would be to sacrifice himself!

Bush gave up golf for the troops, well some troops gave there life so people like Bush can play golf.

I am sure it is very comforting to the relatives and friends of all the troops that have died to know that the man who sent them in harm's way, gave up golf in solidarity with them. Maybe he should have forced Jenna to enlist and serve....oh, that is right, this guy evaded war too......

malathion, I too liked what Ron Paul had to say. Of the Republican candidates, he would have been my choice. He talked about how bad we were to invade other countries. He said it like it was, he wasn't playing to the haves and have mores. He was speaking to ordinary Americans.

Ron Paul may have had a great foreign policy lined up, but his domestic agenda was so out of whack that it would bring our infrastructure down to its knees. Its so frustrating to listen to people on their comfy chairs in DC tell us 'little poor people' what's best for us all. Privatized healthcare is BAD. period. Welfare to work doesn't work. Period! Take it from someone who has been in the system - welfare was never designed to help those who help themselves. The political leaders themselves have not been able to complete the challenge to live on the money a welfare recipient receives for an entire month. These pundits also have their health care provided at no cost to them (gee, thanks taxpayers!) so they really can't speak to the needs of the American working poor.

Stop voting for the candidates that are promising you cookies and candy and start voting for courageous patriots who are endlessly committed to defending your liberty and protecting the Constitution!

It surprises me that someone who admits to being a Ron Paul supporter would advocate assassinating leaders of other countries. One of Dr. Paul's core principles is avoiding blowback by returning to a non-interventionist foreign policy. Bringing bin Laden and al-Qaeda to justice is one thing. Killing other nation's leaders, be they elected or unelected, is another.

I disagree with your assessment of Ron Paul's domestic agenda. Yes, privatized healthcare is bad if the Federal Reserve continues to fleece our citizens and if the elected plutocrats keep us on their fascist highway to hell. Whether intentional or not the government's foray into private industry has created unfair corporatism and monopolies and has hamstrung the free market. Dr. Paul can cure our county's illness.
