Speed Racer?

Thanks for the warning. This looks so campy and strange. But then again what do you expect from the Wachowskis. One wants to be a woman so you know you are going to get something confused and odd with women in outfits that gay guys want to wear.

Wow, knew it was going to be bad but wow, thanks guys. Won't even check this out on dvd.

It was two and a half hours long! I almost left. It was cool for five minutes, and then everyhting got weird. Pretty colors do not a good movie make. Story sucked. And it NEVER ended. Boo.

Man, what a stinker. Didn't even crack 20 mil its opening weekend. But hey, potato head comment was funny.

The Wachowski brothers need to come up with ideas of their own. The matrix was an admitted rip off of “Ghost in the Shell” which is one of the greatest anime stories ever. While they did I good job with the first movie, and by that I mean presenting the “cyberpunk” genre formed by GiTS, they completely flopped when it came time to actually offer a story based within that setting. While there horrible trilogy was getting laughed at the people behind GiTS were spinning their story into a successful TV show and two sequels.

The Wachowski brothers are Michael Bay times two.

Btw the wet Chihuahua comment was priceless.

Even as a fan of anime, I was disappointed.

I've never seen the anime, never read the comics, and never watched the show. From a pure innocent mind (in terms of knowing the franchise) I can say the trailer and clips I saw for it looked stupid. I never planned to watch the movie, this just reconfirmed it.

The only thing cool about this movie is the car. The Mach 5 is slammin.'

Beyond that, I am forced to take comfort in my DVD collection of the original series. I wish I had waited until this goose egg reached cable. It's nothing like I had hoped. It wasn't as good as the cartoon. The plotless script was a waste of the cast and an abuse of the overworked special effects.

I saw the first ten minutes online and it was just weird and like watching a video game. I'm glad that Emile Hirsch and Susan Sarandon still did their best--I don't this will tarnish their careers at all. Dont like Christina Ricci so your comments cracked me up.

that whole movie tries to hard to be like an cartoon with the bury camera effects in the background as people talk. and the fast and unimportant talking that seemed to just kinda confuse you threw out the whole move. The acting was cheese and fake. They put it together like a cartoon network special on a Saturday morning. IT WAS TO CATOONEE but the racing was cool at times and it was well family oriented. bring your 5 year old kid to watch it.

Oh really histoplasma? Is that why it made 18 millon dollars? I saw it. It is utter and complete trash. I think you saw Ironman, ou didn't see this movie. It is HORRENDOUS

This movie is junk, but you can tell by just watching the trailer. If you like bright colors, this puppy is for you.

I don't think you people even took the time to see this amazing movie. You basically listened to "real" critics and based your comments on the crap they were spewing and based your review on clips from trailers and the internet.

I grew up watching the cartoon and I think it is a shame people like you are dissing it without properly educating yourself about what you are talking about.

If you want nostalgia mixed with eye candy do NOT miss Speed Racer!

It is a work of art and summer escape that my kids and I never missed a minute of to fill our popcorn or go to the bathroom!
