my roommate is an nypd narc. its absolutely ridiculous the wasted time, effort, and money that goes into busting innocuous potheads. granted, the big time drug dealers are usually involved in other criminal activities, but that doesnt justify taking in countless of hapless individuals who most of the time are poor and/or of color for having a joint or a bag of weed on their person.

NYPD is just a mess altogether. They need to scrap it and start over.

Yo!!! The tactic for smokers is to avoid all contact with Po-Po at every cost. Which means altering the bad habits of carrying herb on person or in transport. Once you fall into the hands of the "authorities" you will never be able to find economic freedom, and more importantly freedom of movement.

This is one more example of why sane people of all types, smokers and not, should register their support for the decriminalization of marijuana.

So...It's basically a crusade on the earth then, right? Remember, "it's just a plant". Why are we giving these people such a hard time? They seem to be more "green" than a lot of other Americans out there.

Well, statistics aren't bias but cops are, and statistics don't lie but cops do, LOL. These drug laws are nothing more than a ploy to ''oppress'' minorities, the scum bag secret elite devised a plan to stifle minorities by setting up what I call,... a bureaucratic Moebius Ring!!!! or economic labyrinth rather. The elite thought amongst themselves and asked ''Whats the one way we can oppress ethnic people?'' without making it seem obvious? how about arresting them under the guise of a noble cause? Wow that's brilliant!'' It's not a conspiracy its a reality, and I see it everyday in my neighborhood, it doesn't make sense to invest so much federal funding into minor adjudication cases, for less than a couple grams of pot? it's a joke and yet it isn't.... It's a ploy a scheme, that many of us fail to recognize, you rarely see undercover officers patrolling the streets of fifth avenue or park avenue south stopping and frisking unsuspecting civilians. Why is Canada so lenient when it comes to Pot? why are the laws so harsh here, and yet I'm sure many of our politicians indulge in the occasional ''narcotic substance''....Why gosh darn, wasn't Gov. Spitzer involved with prostitutes? and yeah so what he was indicted, but how long were his colleagues turning a blind eye? There are more profound and detrimental activities taking place in the world, and for for the government to direct 80 percent of it's judicial efforts into prosecuting petty crime cases that mostly involve ethnic persons is obviously arbitrary and sinister.

And they wonder why the prisons are crowded.

That just means there are some ragin' cop parties goin' on there and some happy flat foots.

The War on drugs, especially marijuana is a joke. There are countless uses for marijuana that can be used in our everyday life besides just smoking the herb. It was put on this planet for a reason. Its such a waste of money busting people for marijuana when they could spend more time and resources catching actual criminals.

They don't want to Legalize Marijuana because everyone will start growing their own and once they do that they will start growing food! Once they start growing food they will want to build their own homes and will not want to work for the babylon system!

If Marijuana is Legalized lets hope it is not like the gun laws. In Chicago where lots of Black people live hand guns are illegal but in the suburbs hand guns a legal. If we can Smoke Weed in Seattle or Santa Barbara California we should be able to Smoke it in Chicago, Detroit, and New York!

As far as race goes "GET WHITE POLICE OUT OF THE BLACK COMMUNITY"!` They don't care about crime but encourage crime in the Black community by not doing anything about it. Therefore crime increases and they end up with a nice head count in the prisons and increase profits for the large cooperations that own the prison system! The Black police officers are either cool or uncle toms who will do anything for their white masters. They learn from their kkk partners on the force! They think it's funny when a Black citizen's house is broken into or car is stolen! Crime is higher because we often have to take things into our own hands! Check the murder rate in Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, and Oakland, etc.. this year! We are sandwiched between crooks and nazi police! Iraq is right here where we live! Without Weed & Liquor the police would not be able to drive down the street!

man this is a wast of time. if you wanna wast your life somkin weed then by all means do it on your own time. But some people like to live above the influence. police should not wast their time trying to crack down on people with weed. Its not like their gonna stop doing it.

i agree with the posts above - it could be a lot worse. imagine if your life was like ross and spider mike in the movie spun. i think having to deal with all of that just because a small portion of pot is a waste of money and time.

This Goooverment needs to wake up and legalize this weed and use the money and manpower to advance America in a positive way. What a waste of time and money as useage goes up each year with a gadzillion busts each year. This is so laughable but it is disgusting and stupid. Ruining peoples lives for smoking a little weed. Everyone from presidents of major corporations to the woker on the line to the person on the street smokes and these little assholes running around sniffing saying you are under arrest for smoking mother nature. When will this GOOvernment learn to use its money and resourses for somthing positive. coming from jamaica, Queens...thats not really a big shocker. Police run deep, and are always making racially motivated stops. That's why people who do smoke...are smart enough not to be mobil with their stuff.

This is sad, we spend billions of dollars on the war against drugs and if i wanted them bad enough I could just go to my local high school and ask around and get some by the end of the day. they just need to make marijuana legal and tax it.

Yes! Make it legal and tax it like cigs. Instead of filling up the jail and costing us billions, it would bring in tax revenue. The busts are easy for the cops, and makes them look good when the have many convictions - catching the really bad guys takes work and is dangerous. Really sad.

new york has soo many pot heads thats why they bust so many people, + the weed is good in new york. Legalize it, too many people in jail for a weed.
