Okay, maybe this is showing my age, but when did 'emo' become synonymous with goth? I mean, I understand that both scenes have much in common, but still... maybe its also because I'm an American and here emo kids just get made fun of...

good question, when did goth become synonymous with emo? As far as I can tell the music is miles apart.

funny how parental neglect escape blame so easily by simply spotlighting obscurities in music subculture as the culprit for depression and suicidal tendencies when, in fact, it's the lovelessness and detachment children feel with their own parents (and society in general) that drive them towards such horrible thoughts as to kill themselves. just the fact that her death caught them off guard just goes to show how ignorant they are of their own child. pity. i feel for their loss, definitely, but pity nonetheless. if only they had spent more quality time with her.
