  • he didn't win the election, but the presidency was handed to him by the electoral college,

    damn them!

  • No jade - it was deprived of Gore and EVERY American citizen by the Supreme Court.

What an opportunity it would have been for the old deadwood sitting on the Supreme Court to demonstrate it's integrity, the importance and value of our Constitution and form of government as the greatest on earth had they paved the way for the American people to decide - and know - without doubt or FEAR of election fraud and corruption or the appearance of it in our government.

No, instead, what the Supreme Court did was to pass a judgement as to who was to be President without consideration of the facts, ALL the facts - verifying and demonstrating the horribly dysfunctional state of America's judicial system as a whole. It was a selfish perversion of the Supreme Court to have given the Presidency to George W. Bush.

"I want to help vulnerable children" said former Clinton Attorney General Janet Reno the day before the arrogance of power once again intoxicated her when she allowed children (and their families) to be unnecessarily and cruelly burned to death @ Waco, TX.

  • really?

wow, i was eleven and in mexico during that time, i assumed, since Gore won the popular vote but wasn't appointed president, that the electoral college chose Bush,

how did it come down to the supreme court?
    why did they decide?

a tie or insufficient amount of electoral votes to declare a winner, perhaps?

  • The general consensus is that there WAS wide spread election fraud (as there no doubt still is).

The paperless voting machines are all too convenient for unscrupulous power hungry / greedy types to pass up, but there are many many more ways to manipulate the out come.

As you may know, people convicted of felonies can not vote, so as in Florida and other states (no doubt) thousands of people were not allowed (be it dropped from voter roles or whatever, don't remember).

The trouble is, people who have not been convicted of felonies, people who have not been charged with felonies and people who will never commit, be charged nor convicted of felonies were on the lists of ineligibles to vote.

Well you say, how does that affect who was to become President in 2000? You know, I'm really glad you asked. You see, those people who were deleted from the voter roles were blacks apparently and blacks generally vote Democratic - as is Al Gore.

Tens of thousands of people prevented from voting for Al Gore in one state alone - by this one method alone. Imagine the collective result all across the country. think of all the cases and places and angles that were used the "corporate media" has never reported on, never uncovered.

The appropriate response for the Supreme Court would have been to see to it that a nationwide investigation be performed and corrupt people prosecuted. It would have been a GLORIOUS day for the United States!

Instead, the Supreme Court became complicit in enabling the "agenda" which has unfolded thanks to the Busheney gang. The trouble is, America can not build enough bombs, bullets, tanks or war planes to hold kill the most powerful underlying force of all people in the world - that is to be free, free to live and be happy, regardless of what flag wraps it, what religion claims it, what colors it.

  • Why didn't she stop Tony from making those egregious mistakes then???? Everyone else was opposed to his getting Britain involved in the war. The public, his party, the conservatives .... and now it seems his wife. I watched it happen while living in Ireland and the media coverage was quite biased against him. I still can't figure out how parliament didn't collapse. It's a shame Robin Cook wasn't the labor leader at the time, he would never have let that happen. I remember being so thrilled when Tony Blair got elected, after so may years of conservative government in Britain. And he started out so strong with the NI peace process, but then he sent Britain to an unjust and corrupt war, blatantly against the will of the people. I've never been more personally disappointed by any public figure. I don't understand why he did it, he seemed like a man of integrity.

  • Thousands of Black and Hispanic voters were disenfranchised in Florida. The Supreme Court halted the re-counting of the votes, and declared Bush the winner of the 2000 election.

I would have been so pissed!!!

    :@

why didn't you guys revolt or something?
why did you guys just give up?

i would have never accepted him, nor called him 'president',

    he's fuckin incompetent!

ok, i'll do sum more research...

  • the electoral college ultimately decides who is president, though
your vote is a mere suggestion...
    i still hold them accountable

i mean, what is the fuckin purpose of having them if they won't prevent a complete idiot step in the white house?

the electoral college system doesn't work, so it's gotta go!

  • bush is either too stupid, or too evilly intelligent
i'm inclined to believe the latter

    which one is worse?

if he's stupid he is a puppet, but to whom?

oh, and i've heard sum conspiracy theories alright! i just don't like thinking about them, that they are probably true just gets me depressed...

    i don't like feeling powerless
