The chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Joe Biden, D-Delaware, called President Bush’s comments accusing Sen. Barack Obama and other Democrats of wanting to appease terrorists "bulls**t” and said if the president disagrees so strongly with the idea of talking to Iran then he needs to fire his secretaries of State and Defense, both of whom Biden said have pushed to sit down with the Iranians.
“This is bullshit. This is malarkey. This is outrageous. Outrageous for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, sit in the Knesset…and make this kind of ridiculous statement,” Biden said angrily in a brief interview just off the Senate floor.
“He’s the guy who’s weakened us. He’s the guy that’s increased the number of terrorists in the world. His policies have produced this vulnerability the United States has. His intelligence community pointed that out not me. The NIE has pointed that out and what are you talking about, is he going to fire Condi Rice? Condi Rice has talked about the need to sit down. So his first two appeasers are Rice and Gates. I hope he comes home and does something.”
He quoted Gates saying Wednesday that we “need to figure out a way to develop some leverage and then sit down and talk with them.”

Biden is awesome, and a quadrillion times smarter than Bush.
-
Why couldn't have nominated Joe? Someone please tell me how in the hell Obama is more qualified than Joe Biden.
-
@benjaminV
That reminds me of a joke.
"Donald Rumsfeld breaks the news to GW one morning..He says 'Mr.President, I hate to inform you that the coalition forces just lost a group of Brazilian soldiers in Iraq.
GW pauses, with his head in his hands.
Looks up and Donald and says ' Thats horrible Donald. Just, tell me again, How many is a brazillion? "

I am sure that we will get a better speech at the Israeli Kneset from the next president of the United States: Barack Obama
-
im stil, laughing at Chillwills joke. That was really funny!Bush is a joke and his Fix News pundits who agree with him no matter what comes out of his mouth. On the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, it is said and known that Bush met with Bin Ladens brother and accuses Bin Laden for the attacks which is false by the way.

Just read Al Gore's, The Assault On Reason. President Bush's remarks are simply "status quo". Can't wait for Jan '09. Whoever wins can can only do better.

Get'em Joe.
Get you and Olbermann dinner reservations at the WHouse. -
Finally, somebody speaks my language.

little audition as the VP who's got Obama's back?
-
The worst president ever says bad/stupid things?
Oh dear.
-
@ currnetkid// Yeah, how nice of Bush to get us involved in this quagmire in Iraq only to remain shiftless and pass the escalating problem off to the next president. Thinking about how this country elected the idiot twice really gets me concerned about the sanity of certain Americans. I guess the silver lining is at least he'll be gone in January. How sweet it would be if he were put on trial for war crimes and treason?
@ stephenthomson// Exactly. -
Joe Biden speaks very clear English. I'm proud of him, he never misses when he takes aim.

This was the most genuine, unguarded display of righteous outrage since Truman was in the White House and the railroads called a national strike. Go, Biden!

Hey JON A
We nominated Obama over Biden because as much as I respect BIDEN, (very very smart guy) he is not a smooth messenger like OBAMA.
Case in point, Obama does not say Bush is BULLSHIT.
He says Bush's policies have been reckless illogical.
This is politics not WWF SMACKDOWN-

It's about time. Although we should have been calling dubya on his bullshit five years ago. I have to agree with you there samfromalabam, although I think the attorney from the Army-McCarthy hearings statement to Sen McCarthy is a close second, "Have you no sense of decency sir!"
-
Biden, what a waste of oxygen. He compared American soldiers to Nazis several years ago. My son would still like to have a face to face with Joey over that one.
Bushs statement did not mention any names. He didn't accuse Hussein or Hillary of anything. Whatever Biden, Hussein, Pelosi and the rest wish to infer is up to them. Now in this case perhaps the words struck pretty close to the mark. It WAS appeasement that assisted Hitler, regardless of what Biden says. How is the truth bs?
A little defnesive don't you think. I'm surprised the cries of "racism" weren't trotted out. -
if Bush DIDN'T do a damn thing after 9/11 he would have been impeached - what do you honestly think Obama would have done in the same situation ? allow me to venture a guess - Obama would have resigned .
i'm no fan of Bush , but it strikes me as all too easy to hate the guy when he did exactly what the US public demanded of him - he COULDN'T have done any different - sorry- and if he "lied" , then blame a f--ng idiotic US public for eating it up .
you wanna change things ? educate the children of this country - and don't expect politicians to do it for you . -
"how many is a brazillion.' lol - thanks, I needed a good laugh. You go Joe.

YOU Go JOE. I love Hawkmang response. Funny!

At this point no body expects any less from Bush. It is just a matter of waiting it out till the end now. I myself am so happy that such an unfit President has made such a comment about someone I strongly believe in, Obama. Tells me that I am on the right path!

Joe is the "Truth," my cousin would say. This guy didn't beat around the bush or beat around BUSH with his attack. He just said it straight forward. Good Job Joe, you have won my heart.
-
yes, but they still didn't have the guts to say "impeachment."

Biden kicks ass, he would be a good Secretary of State.
-
Great post, and great words. Biden hit the nail on the head and gave it the impassioned reaction it deserved. Bullshit indeed, and well elaborated on.
You'd think in this compact form this would make a great clip for CNN and Fox and whatnot. IF they were "fair and balanced" -
Hell yes Biden.
The man speaks the truth. Think about it: the US is hit by a terrorist attack. The DHS and other such men in black start a huge propaganda campaign through their connections to the so-called "liberal media" (with Fox news being the most traitorous yet laughable example) to frighten people with the Terrorist Threat Level and other simple scare tactics to make the average person think they are going to be attacked any day now by bad men with AK-47s speaking incomprehensible languages and wearing strange clothing. This works on the average person, ensuring their approval for a new crusade, the "War on Terror", replacing the good ol' War on Drugs. This campaign is far more drastic, clumsy, and violent, making the Drug Wars look like surgically executed special operations by comparison.
However, like most of the policies put forward by the Bush Administration, the title of "The War on Terror" is misleading, merely a front. What do terrorists want? Simply put, they want terror. Terror is a very useful tactic for getting a political movement what it wants (the original American Revolutionaries were terrorists) and is a very broad term. But the US was giving them exactly what they want. Terror.
Why would they do this?
Several theories exist as to their motivations, including money, oil, glory and power being some of the most popular these days. My theory is a combination of all.
However, people eventually started getting upset when their sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, etc. began coming back wrapped in flags (or ziploc bags). People got smart, people got a little angry, but people figured that by the time anything could be done about the idiotic yet cunning commander in chief and his eerily stereotypical evil adviser, he will have left the throne anyway. His term is almost up.
This is a facet of the roughly cut blood-diamond that is the United States of America that I can admire. Even it's rudimentary form of democracy requires that no person can rule for more than two terms of four years, ensuring that a small and (almost) completely non-violent revolution every 4 or 8 years. I theorize that this is why the United States has stood as long as it has, because if a ruler as incompetent and malicious as George Walker "Dubya" Bush had ruled for more than eight years, the nation surely would tear itself apart. Even so, it may very well do that regardless seeing as how badly handled democracy is these days in the Eagle Empire.-

You know what is really funny?
All of you are bashing Bush but he speaks the truth. For the last 100 years the Democratic Party has been the party of Appeasement.
And what did that get us?
WW I
WW II
The Korean War
The Vietnam War
444 days of American Held Hostage in Iran.
Osama Bin Laden-

Biden is notorious for being an A-hole, but now he might be known for being notoriously awesom
-
A word from Animal of the Muppets:
"Im-Peach-Ment! Im-Peach-Ment! Im-Peach-Ment!"
Biden's been fairly accurate when assessing GWB and his "Bushwhackers". Frankly, I love it when someone in the know cuts through the rhetorical "spinspam" and says the one thing that rings true...
BULLSHIT!
-
You tell 'em , Joe. I have had enough of GW. I have gotten so tired of his idiotic remarks that I just don't pay much attention to what he says anymore. Saves a lot of rage. Iit's like you can't believe what he has done/said and then he does/says something stupider. Maybe he is trying to out-stupid himself. Nothing GW and Cheney do or say anymore surprises me.
-
anthonyvop, What history books have you been reading? Do you think we should just bomb everyone and get it out of the way so we can get on with our lives? If so vote for McSenile and we will.
