  • Ouch! Wisdom teeth are a pain the ass. You have my sympathy. :-)

Anyway, it's good to hear you got your visa. I'm looking forward to seeing more videos on life in China.

  • Hey, congrats on the visa! I was worried for you... pretty dicey for awhile so I guess you are currently considered indispensable to the great city of Shanghai. Either that or they feel the Shanghai Diaries are now covered under national security, ha ha.

I love what you do here.

  • When I tell you I could sell this thing for $10,000usd, I'm not joking...in the matter of 3 hours, I found out 2 *more* friends of mine can't get theirs.

I appreciate the support you have all shown and hope to make it worth it...

Speaking of which - I want to create some sort of 'open forum', where you all can ask about things going on here. I often forget what's interesting...

  • Okay... I'll be the one to ask...

So, is getting a visa like pulling teeth or what?

    :)

  • 6-7 more months, you know your going to enjoy it Aric, seems I owe you a bag of Jolly Ranchers when I get to SH in 2 weeks. Congrats on the Visa, and keep up the good work, forums would be nice, a bit less "you've got a response" Current mail. :), To celebrate an event like this, like the good people of Northern Maine, USA, "Wicked pissah" from what it sounds like.

  • A safe is an excellent idea, actually - just never considered it as those are for people with money, ha.

excuter - you're coming?! Send me an email, I would love to meet up with you!

Many thanks to everyone who was so supportive - next week should be a...well, more interesting one per these vlogs!

  • If this show teaches you anything, it should be that you need to, if you're maybe thinking of coming, start the visa process now - I'm having friends who are being caught in transit now because of the daily-changing rules!

  • Aric, recently I obtained my Z Visa, but I was one of the lucky ones that provided certain documents that helped my visa process, one of them is a Real Estate Deed, here's a link that is fairly recent about the new requirements for most visa's to China.

I find it about 95% accurate, 4% changes daily, and 1% error and the fault of some idiot playing with frontpage and googletranslator.
Hope this helps. But things are getting STRICT as hell, say goodbye to 6-12month L visas though, UNLESS you are married to a Local, theres a tidbit about this I learned, but its possible to get a 12month L Visa under one condition.
