A group of Democratic senators wants to make a massive arms sale to Saudi Arabia contingent on getting cheaper oil, reports AFP. "We are saying to the Saudis that, if you don't help us, why should we be helping you?" says Chuck Schumer, a Democratic senator from New York. "We are saying that we need real relief, and we need it quickly. You need our arms, but we need you to cooperate and not strangle American consumers."
At issue is an arms package worth some $20 billion. The group has introduced a resolution in the Senate to block the pending sale. When the controversial deal was announced last July, Noah wrote that he was "utterly, completely flummoxed by the Bush Administration's decision to sell $20 billion worth of arms to Saudi Arabia and other Gulf potentates."

How pathetic and outrageous is this? Our government manipulates our economy and unleashes the inflationary monster on us driving up the cost of oil and other commodities, then continues it's stellar commitment to tarnishing our image on the international scene playing extortionist. What's up with "guns for oil" anyway? WTF?!!!

we have become? We are going to sell nuclear weapons for cheaper oil? Ow because oil is defiantly worth selling deadly weapons of mass destruction for.

This is definitely not the answer.
Probably some huge kick backs are in the works if this passes into law. -
THE SAUDI'S ARE JUST DOING WHAT THEY AND THE BUSHIES PLANNED. DON'T BLAME THEM TO MUCH. IMPEACH DUMB YA AND THEN DENY THE SAUDI'S OUR HELP IN ANY WAY AT ALL AND THE PRICE WILL GO DOWN. AMERICA HAS HELP THEM AND NOW THEY AND BUSHY HAVE TURNED OUT TO BE VERY GREEDY AS WELL AS VERY TERRIBLE GLOBAL NEIGHBORS.
