After month's of stalling and false hopes, Andrea Mitchell reports that Hillary Clinton realizes that her campaign is "going through the motions" and that she "is not going to win this." Maybe now we can begin the so-called healing process and begin the march to the White house.

I'm sure Bush and McCain with their recent faux pas made that "healing process" much easier.
-
oh, i sure hope so!

Since the Clinton camp has finally admitted it's over, Barack hasn't wasted any time in going after McCain/Bush. He's blasted their foreign policy and is doing a good job of lumping those two together.
I can't wait to see an Obama/McCain debate and see my boy just destroy the GOP.
Obama/Edwards 2008!!! -
If it is truly over and she admits it I will donate to help with the bills. I don't want her venders stuck holding the bag.

OMG!!! finally!!! she put up a good fight and deserves a lot of respect. But the thing i am worried about are the voters who wont vote democrat because Hilary drop out! that is very ignorant and pointless!Hilary Democrats & Obama Democrats must come together as one and they will find away to take the white house.

This video doesn't match your erroneous headline at all. I sure hope Current doesn't put this on TV with such misleading information before checking it out on their own. This is not on any network nor is it on her site. Some media person in an interview saying her campaign admits she will not win this is not the same as her bowing out of the race.

I will believe it when I see it. And even when I see it, with Hillary, I'll still have a problem believing it....

I agree with Janfor Gore.
If you search the New York Times or if you look at Hillary's website, there is no indication that she's throwing in the towel.
Current should be very careful with material like this. -
On MSNBC's Morning Joe they reported that she knows the reality of the campaign.
-
well....i'm not seeing this anywhere else. It would be relieving if its true, because I really want the primary race to end. I have a lot of respect for Hilary, but as an Obama voter, i would definitely be pleased if this turns out to be true.
-
It is one thing to begin accepting the inevitable at the gut level, it is another to admit it. The beginning of a soft landing ,perhaps?
-
The supposed opinions of Hillary's staffers as told by a pundit does not mean she's throwing in the towel.

People can speculate as much as they want. Saying "Hillary calls it quits" is just bad journalism.
-
Pundit A, from NBC News: 'Hillary is calling it quits' (Pundit A's opinion)
Pundit B: "Pundit A, from NBC News, reports that Hillary is calling it quits.'
Pundit C: "We have confirmation from two sources now that Hillary is calling it quits.' -
LOL @ cosmo, oh my god i'm dying here :D
thanks 4 the laugh-

I don't think anyone in the Clinton campaign has said they are calling it quits. I think its clear however that since Indiana and N. Carolina, the tenor has changed. She clearly is not giving this everything she's got, but her campaign is still using the Florida/Michigan angle.
-
Alas, computer says no. She's still in he race, come hell and high water.
""We'll know a lot more on June 4th," the candidate herself says, placid as a lap cat. "I don't believe in quitting. I don't believe in being pushed out."
Or being poor-Hillary'd out."

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand, we wait. *tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick...*
-
I just want to give her a hug. And possibly a Coke.
-
It's way overdue. But she does seem to be playing ball so I'll give her credit for that.
-
@mako2424
Remember when J.E said he would "decline the nomination to run as V.P"?
With his very direct and open support of Obama, I doubt that he is going to run.
And I know its nearly impossible, but...
Obama/Gore FTW?
All the best parts of the Democratic party, plus environment care?
Sounds like heaven.
This all seems like a publicity stunt. I mean, Hilary has made it quite obvious and public that she wouldn't drop out of the race.
Shes just looking for the sympathy vote.-

"I just want to give her a hug. And possibly a Coke." Right about now, she'd likely be more grateful for a whiskey shot and a hit of some Peruvian coke.

Indeed, the truth.
-
perhaps you're right on both counts killer_shatner. however, i am hoping you are not. I think that if Edwards accepts the nod for VP, the Democratic ticket will appeal to a different and significant subsection of the voting public than without him. As for Gore, he's been conspicuously silent through all of this mess and I don't know if he has any desire to be the VP again.
Regarding Hillary (and this story), I don't know how they couldn't have these feelings. They aren't stupid. They know what they're up against. And, even if they have chosen to spin the race as they want it to be seen up to this point--they know where they stand. This race has BEEN over and I think it's a good sign that the Hillary camp (according to Andrea Mitchell) is finally beginning to see the light. -
Hillary is busy now orchestrating a way to graciously exit that will also retire her campaign debts that she and Bill don't want to have to pay. The impression I get is that were Obama to agree to retire her $22 million debt, she'd gladly suspend her campaign this evening. Since he has yet to offer, and Howard Dean is subtly hinting that the Dems need to be wrapping this baby up real soon, she's loitering now, hoping to game the remaining super delegates into getting her on the ticket as Vice President, if not President.
Hillary is kind of screwed right now. The last thing she wants to do is return to beingthe junior senator from New York State. She hasn't been in the Senate long enough to become the next Senate Majority Leader. She hasn't been a real team player to the point where any of the committees would welcome her leadership. And, her campaign style has amassed her numerous enemies. Albany is fickle, and Spitzer, a real Hillary ally, is no longer the governor, making keeping her Senate seat iffy in 2010. Once Obama takes oath in January 2009, there is no 2012 for her. So, her political career is slowly unraveling.-

Barack, Bush and McBush are moving ahead without her. She is irrelevant and the longer she hangs on, the more her legacy will suffer.
-
Well she'll never be the rat scurrying from the sinking ship...she has too much respect in the world, just for putting up such a good fight...
She can always do the speaking engagement cicuit to ease the campaign blues...and the Bill...pun intended
