Republican Mike Huckabee responded to an offstage noise during his speech to the National Rifle Association by suggesting it was Barack Obama diving to the floor because someone had aimed a gun at him.
Hearing a loud noise and interrupting his speech, Huckabee said: "That was Barack Obama. He just tripped off a chair. He's getting ready to speak and somebody aimed a gun at him and he — he dove for the floor."
There were only a few murmurs in the crowd after the remark.
The Obama campaign had no comment.

The shocker, to me, was that the joke bombed in front of the NRA audience...that kinda raises my opinion of them a bit.

I would have expected this from many GOP crazies but not from Huckabee. WTF happened to him?
This was not funny at all and he should know better.
A southern governor jokes about shooting a black politician. Hello? -
I guess he figured, "What the hell? No one listens to me anymore anyway."

yeah, that's an attitude looking for expression. despite appearances, I think a lot of people (ahem...Republicans) would like to take a stab at busting up the new media darling (teflon don), even if it's just a deflating pin prick... I'm sure we'll see more to say that Obama doesn't shit perfumed rose petals, but that he may prefer to wipe with them hehe =D
I got nothing against Obama, except that Edwards was probably the better man =P
