  • Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal is a master at the use of words. Action, mind you, is not his strong suit - particularly when that action might mean having to do something positive and meaningful to not only bring his country into the twentieth century but also to make a significant contribution to Middle Eastern Peace. The Prince objects to President Bush's use of a phrase uttered throughout time and memoriam; however it doesn't bother the price that often as many as 23 beheadings a month take place in his country.
The Prince doesn't mind putting his good and decent old friend George W Bush into a far more untenable position vis-a-vis the price of oil than he's already mired in. No, the Prince objects to what the President says but the Prince rarely, if ever, lifts his hand (or anything else) that would do anything meaningful for anyone other than the Prince.
Wouldn't it be nice if all of us could be given a country by the United Nations and not only a country but titles and money and Lord knows what else. The Prince is a part of a magnificent modern illusion called country creationism and from that piece of geographical tom-foolery emanates his title and his dominion over all Saudi people. Now, this Prince thinks he has some inherent right to object to what is said by the elected representative of the American people. Boy, oh boy - as they say, 'power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely'.
A piece of advice for the Prince - Mind the shop because Bush didn't go after you for the friends and countrymen you sent over here on 9/11 but that doesn't mean that all succeeding presidents will be as gracious, kind, or forgiving as he's been to you - friend!
