A spade is a spade. An artist that sells their music to an ad agency is a sell out. Maybe I think this because I find good music to be beautiful and sacred and not worthy of the defilement of corporate branding, or maybe it's because I don't want a particular song to remind me of salad dressing, I don't know. Either way, music is art and if it is true art and comes from the artists soul then it should be special enough not to be sold to fuel the capitalistic machine.
