Leading scientist says that it could be the vaccines that cause autism.

Unfortunately there is a growing body of evidence that the body's response to vaccines can cause mental illnesses such as autism and schizophrenia. This doesnt mean to necessarily stop getting the vaccines especially if you are in an at risk population seeing as how the actual virus can illicit the same risk of putting you (or more likely your developing child) at a higher probability of developing a mental illness.
It looks like it will soon come to be that families will most likely have to choose between the lesser of two evils for either potentially becoming infected with a deadly disease or developing a serious mental disorder.-

It is a far stretch. There has been an increase in the number of people with autism in the last few decades but that is probably due to the increasing awareness of autism. I am still quite skeptical of this, it seems quite as far fetched as the refrigerator mom theory.

I agree with Hunter. There is a possibility, but it is very small. I would have to be more suspect to other things in peoples environment like for instance: pesticides, herbicides, drugs, bacteria, hormones, etc. etc. that we intake on a daily basis.
Yes, there are of course always exceptions to the rule, but vaccines have been given out for years, and years, and years, and years; sure there are going to be instances of screw ups and exceptions. But to lay blame on vaccines diseases such as autism which have only been coming to the surface in the last few years is kind of rediculous.
