Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird and John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath will be the focus of reading groups and other events in Cairo and Alexandria. In America, parallel events will take place in New York, Miami, Huntsville, Alabama and Brookings, South Dakota.
For the second time in recent years, US literature is being pressed into the service of international relations.

We have the Big Read promoting Harper Lee's To Kill A Mockingbird at the local library, I think it's great, but I'm tired of seeing it.
