  • I admire her, she seems like a sensible person who has won the hearts of the people, but won' let them walk all over her. I think that electing her was a big step in the right direction for Liberia.

  • I'm in love with Liberia now! They are working hard to change their lives and make justice a part of their days the way we all hope our own countrymen and government leadership behave.

Such brave and responsible people! I was swelling with pride for the Iron Lady and the people of Liberia after I saw this pod. Thank you so much for putting it here on current.com.

  • This is a great piece of work. Not enough is none about Liberia and the struggles it faces. Having a woman lead the country in a time of peace is a powerful message but she has so much work to do!

  • Wow. A leader walking out into a protest rally and TALKING to the people directly. Quite a ways away from our precious little 'free-speech zones' that get to watch the Bush motorcade drive by 20 miles off in the distance.

  • I truly enjoyed this pod...it showed the inside workings of a recovering country coming out of a devastating conflict...in addition, It showed how women are making strives within the traditional African patriarchal societies...Finally, I had always wondered how Madame President Sirleaf has been doing and I'm happy to see she's taking charge of her position positively.

  • I pray for your safety and positive success Ms. Sirleaf...Liberia's people deserve great lives and rich opportunities...Africa's people deserves great lives and rich opportunities...I hope that the words you speak are followed by actions that move mountains...your challenge is that big, and I pray for the people of Africa...

One thing about a real leader...a real hero...they don't need to ride in on a hundred thousand dollar mercedez while the people struggle to live of less than $5 a month...that's the truth...

  • How inspiring. If people want peace, listening is the easiest and most effective. Listen, then give a solution from your own better judgment. This is also the best way to keep personal relationships. The extra attention and the compassion she shows is her success.
