US Senator Edward M. Kennedy will not give the commencement speech Sunday at Wesleyan University, but he has found a replacement who will also make headlines -- Barack Obama."Considering what he's done for me and for our country, there's nothing I wouldn't do for him," Obama, an Illinois senator and Democratic presidential candidate, said in a statement. "So I'm looking forward to standing in his place on Sunday even though I know I won't be able to fill his shoes."
Meanwhile, Senator Kennedy left Massachusetts General Hospital on Wednesday to recuperate at his Cape Cod home.

I maintain:
that while he rests at his Cape Cod home, I hope he looks out onto the horizon and reconsiders that offshore windmill farm he voted against.

Sounds like we all concur...all good, everyone...I just can't wait till we get a real government of the people and for the people...
It seems like everytime we get someone who actually cares, i.e. the Kennedys, MLK, Gore, Edwards, those who uplift our spirits, etc., etc.(Obama can't be counted yet)... the boogy man comes and screws it all up for us...surely they can no longer hide from the truth...thats why we must do all that we can to expose the RATS...
I've seen some excellent posts lately...this gives me more hope for the future...
Way to go, renbyrd...

The integrity of both of these men restores our pride in this country. These are our true statesmen, the Kennedy's, Gore's, Edwards' and Obama's. They're the ones you can know, not by what they say so much as what they do.

I heard a student from Wesleyan University on XM radio last night. They of course are very disapointed about not getting Teddy Kennedy for speaker, yet very excited to have Barack Obama as a replacement. Good for them.

So true Plato. He's been a right wing punching bag for so long...it's sad that it takes a very serious medical situation for him to get the respect he deserves.
And good on Obama for stepping in for him. Can't wait to see how the haters try to spin this one negative...I'm sure they will.

How very eloquent and modest of Obama...Ted Kennedy deserves a lot of respect for being an upstanding statesman, but is quite often shown a lot of disrespect, coming from the Right, complaining about the Left...
In the words of Clint Eastwood, "If you look far enough to the Left, pretty soon you see them coming around from the Right."
