Whether you like or loathe the American Idol movement, one of the coolest winners in the contest's history, David Cook, has brought Kansas City some well deserved national recognition. Usually a net of odd weather incidents and accidents, the Kansas City metro can finally claim some good news via a down-to-earth crooner that epitomizes the best of the Midwest cool.

  • That is awesome to have good news. I understand wanting such. I live in Houston and we get mentioned only in the negative, or so it seems. Though it does help to have good sports teams, sans football.
