The US most popular TV channel Fox News has been beaten by CNN for the first time during the last seven years. Preferences of US citizens were affected by the media reporting of the election campaign and the country’s foreign policy. Twelve million TV viewers preferred the "objective" CNN to Fox News that justifies George Bush’s policy. In April 2008 the CNN audience counted 62 million people, while Fox News had only 50 million TV viewers, Handelsblatt reports. According to US media experts, the reason for this change is the information policy run by the competing TV channels. “CNN has beaten all the TV channels by the quality of its programs concerning the elections,” said Joe Cuthbert, a professor of the Department of Journalism of the Columbia University in the City of New York.
Fox News, a part of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation, engaged in one-sided advocacy of the stance of the current US administration, instead of providing all-round objective reports of election campaigns. Economists proved that George Bush would have never won the 2000 election but for the support from Fox News. The TV channel definitely backs up right-wing Republicans, Cuthbert considers. “Fox is rather the advocate of Bush’s government than a news TV channel. Now the political ship is sinking, and so is Fox.”

I don't feel that any utterly corporate controlled media will ever be "objective," and I still strongly support newspapers.
But any news about FOX's popularity falling is a good thing. -
This is why Current is teh best. ^.^

..."amateurish and shallow," is a good start...and, what will we do if we lose Fox...we won't know 'what not to believe'...anymore...
Looks like...just listening to a 'pretty face' doesn't guarantee you're hearing 'the truth' after all....
The 'Fox Code of Ethics'..???///????????????????-

CNN isn't nearly as one sided as Fox, but the masses are still missing a lot of information if thats all their watching.

CNN I have noticed has a bias towards Obama, has anyone else noticed. I hope Fox goes the way of the dodo.

Say, I'd like to attach an anchor to the sinking ship - so that it never resurfaces.

This is the best news I've heard all weekend! I'll throw in an anchor or two, too!

I don't think that CNN is completely objective myself--we still get tons of spin on election coverage. In addition, I think many Networks have tried to capture Fox's audience by airing the same style of programming. That would include CNN, MSNBC and others.

Especially MSNBC mariposablanca. The Dateline to Catch a Predator thing has gotten way out of hand.
-
But back to the point, I am very glad the reign of terror is over for Fox.

It's great news that FOX's ratings have dropped significantly. It means more Americans now see their version of "journalism" as the crap it is!

Duh. All liberal media is biased toward Obama. But their right in their bias.
Hurray!
Ignorance gets knocked down a notch in America!
Now lets get rid of Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh-

Since FOX News' rise and fall in ratings is directly connected to the rise and fall of GWB's presidency, this makes perfect sense. They hung themselves.

That's true, I've noticed nearly every discussion about Democrats on network news has leaned toward Obama and away from everyone else. I'm not a Hillary supporter, but she hasn't really been far behind at all. It seems like the media's been running her out of the race, similar to how Ron Paul was in the Fox debates.

-
I'm up for an anchor party, also... I'll throw in a few anchors...just to sip on a cold one while watching the old gray hull sink below the horizon, honestly, for the last fair and balanced time...

FOX is completely biased..
come on they hired Karl Rove
The only reason CNN is beating FOX is they started copying them CNN is just as lame...for trying to be like FOX
Wolf Blintzes is always about to tell me something after the break...they use the tease so much i just turn it off and go to the internet
They gave Lou Dobbs a show to be the populist town cryer..he used to run the show money line ..all he did before was praise CEOs and look at the stock market
Nancy Grace..OMG she has a time slot on CNN..
she was on court tv...they got her to compete with GERALDO on FOX
Glenn Beck has a show there..a right wing talk show host....he is just there to get some of the Bill O. crowd from FOX.
these guys at CNN completely sold out to get the FOX news viewers..the anchors are more flashy now and they have so many graphics i can't see the video they are showing....these people used to be the place to get news....now it is the internet...
Current
Reuters
AP
their websites actually give great news
ahhh that feels good -
Hurrah for a slightly less biased news station winning over the blatantly prejudiced and biased and uneducated one!
Boo for letting Nancy Grace think she has a "news" show! Boo for putting ten tons of makeup on each female anchor that would shame a porn starlet.
Boo for refusing to allow interviewees to string more than two sentences together.
Boo for keeping news articles to 2 minutes or less.
Boo for refusing to cover important international stories.
Boo for scrolling a ticker so slow that it's nearly impossible to read.
Boo for not giving Christiane Amanpour her own show! She's the best/only reporter they have worth anything.
Boo for using the morning news hour to cover small town cop car chases, shootings, and otherwise trivial stories. -
The American public is not a bunch of dummies. They have a brain of their own and they're able to judge between what is fair and objective and what a lobe-sided and tilted opinion is.
