When asked her opinion of the recent scandal surrounding some comments made by Sen. Hillary Clinton, which FOX Contributor Liz Trotta described by saying that, "some are reading [it] as a suggestion that somebody knock off Osama." Bill Hemmer quickly corrected Trotta, having noticed that she had said "Osama" when she meant "Obama." At this point, Trotta said, "Obama. Well...both if we could!" Trotta then laughed gleefully.

  • F***ing lowlife racist pricks.

  • I can’t believe that in this day and age, two blatant references to assassinating SENATOR Barack Obama from Mike Huckabee & this bitch have not been more deeply scrutinized. Hillary’s rebuking by Keith O said it all for me, but she’s done irreparable damage to her legacy.

I’m calling for the US Senator’s protective service to pay both these “individuals” a visit.

  • Nothing from this bottom feeding network. FOX has never been trusted by any serious news junkie or believed for that matter. Nothing would surprise me about these low lives.

  • Ah, there we go with another opportunity for meat-heads such as merasyad to hurl 'racist'. Although it was tasteless and wrong to joke about anyone being 'knocked off' you assume its because he's (half) Black and she's, well who knows. Im off topic in directing my negativity towards you merasyad but we do get tired of people like you.
On topic, she should be held responsible for what she said, and to even suggest this is below human compassion, but it is the media isnt it!

  • Better story would be "Current tv Jokes About Killing Fox News." An even better story would be "Fox News destroyed by Current tv. Stirs Upheaval and Concerns About Where Americans Must Now Get Fear Stories Fed To Them."

  • I like how she laughed afterwards. Yeah. Really funny.

  • This would be a perfect opportunity to try to get Fox off the air. They cancel all the good shows anyway. I mean, Firefly, Drive, The Tick. Family Guy isn't the same since they canceled it. I mean, it's the same jokes over and over again. How many times do I have to see Peter fight that goddamn chicken. That's ground enough for me to take it to Congress. You can do that, right?
  • Someone should knock her off that chair for wearing that dress in public.

  • The people are all wacked out.
What is it going to take to get this -Obviously partisan- one sided - biased - shit faced - Network off the air? Or at least not have it be considered ACTUAL journalism ???!?!

  • I find it funny that Fox News is hated by all people who have the same political views. Aside from that joking about this is rather in poor taste. If I were Obama I'd be scared that this is foreshadowing something mournful. I hope he is being cautious. Too much talk about him and death, with a word I hate using in connection with persons that are alive, that if one in his position ignored it - it would be like ignoring huge road signs indicating danger ahead.

  • It's Fox News, which is a misnomer in itself, political hit jobs and extreme poor taste wrapped in false patriotism is what they do.

  • Is there no line that Fox News won't cross? No limits they won't go below? I never watch them. Who are their sponsors? Boycotts are in order.

  • Disgusting...

  • While this is in poor taste it isn't exactly groundbreaking.

Don't we have something important to be focusing on... like the issues?

    Focus!

  • Oh c'mon "realcanadian". Fox News has been notoriously racist in their views and they let it fly on a regular basis. They're compassion challenged.

  • The longer this presidential campaign goes on, the more of this crap we are going to see. Its an unfortunate reflection that the United States needs to see. As far as this country has come since civil rights, we still have a long way to go, and the underlying racism that is unfortunetly prevelant still in soceity is something this country will need to deal with in order to move forward as a nation and as a people. Clips like this, Hillary's "freudian slip", are really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to race relations in this country. Racism is not gone, just buried under political correctness...

  • The way she said it you could tell it was premeditated - she paused before saying Osama and was obviously thinking about how she was going to refer to him. This is all part of a sickening political ploy to associate Obama with terrorism and it's working! Jon Stewart showed clips of people in West Virginia before the primary who were literally saying they had "had enough of Osama" and "Hussein" (they were referring to Obama)
The saddest part is people buy into it!

  • Okay, so a constructive response might be: I'll give the Obama campaign some more volunteer time.

  • "it is foolish and naive not to accept as a terrifying fact that psychotics can and will be triggered by almost anything, which is why it's not only vulgar but completely reckless, irresponsible and bordering on criminal for those who comment on politics and political figures to say the kind of disgusting thing that Liz Trotta said."

  • I find it funny that for all of the hate for Fox News we can't seem to get away from it here. Why anyone should expect anything better from them is laughable. Too bad issues don't get this much attention.
    JanforGore
  • If she would have made a joke about knocking off Bush or even McCain, I'm sure her media career would be done for awhile. But given their demographic I wouldn't be surprised to see her with her own half hour on FNC soon. Giving the public what it wants is the highest democratic moral standard.

  • That is even worse then what Hilary Clinton said about RFK.

  • be scared, be very scared...

If this happens or is even attempted, President Bush would likely call it a national emergency and then take the reins for a third term with the shadow government...

throw your body in front of anyone who tries to hurt a candidate!

  • ugg, i just woke up. must i really wake to this? ah, world.

  • Fox should be sanctioned. The interviewer should be fired. Liz Trotta should be arrested for hate speech inciting violence. She tried to backpeddle and pretend that she didn't mean that someone should assasinate both Senator Obama and Osama Bin Laden but we all know that IS what she meant.
    barkway
  • Given the national outrage triggered by this woman's remarks as evidenced by the deluge of complaints to Fox, the Secret Service, and others, I sure hope she has hired bodyguards of her own. I understand her phone number and address were splashed all across the internet.

  • Why did Imos get kicked off the Air for his tasteless racist remark and this woman is allowed to stay after this comment advocating a presidential candidate be assassinated?

  • Now if I happened to be interviewed and said, "I'm gonna get McCain's old, cracker-ass!" I would have been met at the studio doors by authorites.

  • I predict that, if anything were to happen to Barak Obama, President Bush would completely drop the ball and there would be a riot at the Whitehouse.

Americans may be stupid, slow, over weight and ignorant, but we sure as hell aren't stupid.

    ...wait...thats not right....

  • Yeah, right, They are just the number one rated news organization in America, for the past ten years or more.
    karrde
  • What kind of world do we live in where a media "giant" gets away with laughing about the assassination of a potential President on TV. It would seem that Fox News has lost any shred of journalistic integrity, but to be totally honest, I'm not sure it ever had it. Liz Trotta should be stripped of her ability to ever be on Television again and Fox News should be dismantled, for good.

Sounds like you are advocating censorship?

Isn't that what it is called when you shut-up or close the doors to a news agency that you don't agree with?
    karrde
  • I wouldn't really consider Fox a news agency...considering they have Karl Rove on all the time as a "political analyst".

  • What a sick puppy, why aren't the media jumping down her throat for this joke, very poor taste indeed.

  • Fox is straight from the New World Order garden - It's despicable how they throw subliminal (or in this case direct) negative messages out.

I'm just thinking about all those viewers who have now got this negative subconscious vision of Obama (you'd be suprised how much we pick-up subconsciously).
