Bush 'Plans Iran air strike by August'?

Allegedly a source told the Asia Times that Bush will launch an air strike against Iran in the next two months. The source was a former assistant secretary of state who otherwise remained anonymous.

  • I was hoping bush wouldn't screw up anymore than he already has by the time he left...wishful thinking. I really don't think invasion is the right move. Other countries that are more affected by Iran even say that peaceful tactics are still the best option. Why is he so blood thirsty? I think that if invasion is his plan, he should be forced to help fight after is term of terror is finished. Now, more than ever, it is important for people to contact their representatives and urge them to not allow this! Although, even if they don't approve it, it might happen anyway.

  • If/when senators Feinstein and Lugar release their New York times piece everyone will know that the rumors of an attack on Iran are no longer rumors, but the truth. Now the only problem is weather or not the senators actually write anything because I don't think most of America will take this seriously.

  • I don't understand why our current leaders think that bombing our enemies cures all. We have alienated the beliefs of millions in Iraq and created more enemies there in the past 5 years. Occupying these countries with an "oppressive" christian army justifies any hatred that these people already have for us.

    If the world ends in a nuclear war guess who started it. I have lost all confidence in this current government.

  • "anonymously" , "allegedly" ? yeah , i'm taking bets right now , with odds based on these kinds of pseudo-stories ( if they aren't outright dis-information ). the bush machine could be leaking this stuff so as to create a climate of public hysteria , whereby war with Iran can be made to look inevitable , and thus make the public more inclined to go for it . i'm very , very wary whenever i hear the words "anonymously" , "allegedly " , "rumored" , "undisclosed" , blah blah blah.

  • I vote Impeachment - June sounds great! In fact, let's just hold the Presidential election in June as Obama is the clear winner.

    Recently in Arizona, mcVain's supporters didn't outnumber his opponents so they had to do fund raising in private homes.

    Bush has the mentality of a 3 year old playing with G.I. Joe figures and the age of an older man. Problem is, this man child is playing with real weapons.

    It ain't over til these warmongering, authoritarian, psychopaths are out of power COMPLETELY. Everyone's so excited about the possibility of a Democratic president, but we can't lose sight of the dangers still facing our world. There's one bit of history I'd hope we don't repeat, it's anything remotely resembling Napoleon's final desperate moves as he was in the process of being exiled. Let's not forget that he held on to power and destroyed half of the world by merely controlling and charming the ARMY.

  • All I have to say is that if this is true, Congress BETTER NOT LET THIS HAPPEN! We are already fighting in a war that is based on lies and Dumbya won't hesitate to make up more to go to war with Iran. Pelosi sickens me. Her first act as speaker of the house should have been to begin the impeachment process on this numb nut. Instead she chickened out and cut a deal. SMH.. Bush better be glad I'm not in Congress. I would raise all sorts of hell!

    I'm going to be attending a filming of her giving an "Inconvenient Truth" type presentation tomorrow night, only instead of climate change, it will plot the steps that every single political party has taken when it attempts to establish a dictatorship.

    1. Create a gulag (guantanamo, abu gharib) and the ability to arrest people without giving them the right to know why (PATRIOT Act).

    2. Torture (Military Commissions Act).

    3. Create lists of 'suspicious persons' (TAA's No Fly Lists).

  • I think bush is trying to go out with a bang...but on the impeachment--isn't it a little late? It didn't work the first time people tried it and I doubt it will work now.
