  • Superb work! A very illuminating and timely piece about a tribal culture forced out of Burma.

  • With Burma in in the headlines, this is a particularly timely look at why things are the way they are. Love the characters, and the unusual perspective.

  • Thanks for the informative look at these kind and peaceful people, Joelski. I truly hope that the Akha live on, are protected, and that the Thai community understand how Akha people contribute to the overall Thai cultural mosaic.

  • This is a beautifully done near-eulogy to the Ahka people, whose culture is almost certain to pass into oblivion, alsong with so many others. My own family's culture has disappeared and has been mourned by its last generation and that generation's children, the final witnesses. The title of Gershon's mini-doc says it all, but what will become of us when none of us is self-sufficient and we have all been forced to adopt the values of the dominant culture?

  • Wow, it's great one. Too bad that I missed the chance to help you guys working on it.

I think not only Akha but it's almost every tribes in Thailand that have been changed...

Maybe in next decade, we wouldn't find anything like this ...
