Fathers and sons
George Bush Sr's corrupt idiot son is elevated to the White House where he has succeeded in doing more damage to America than any external enemy in its history.
Meanwhile, the deeply informed, insightful, patriotic son of Robert F. Kennedy is all but banned from the airwaves.
This tells you everything you need to know about why America is where is is today and what track it's on.

He is exactly right as usual. If you agree you might want to check out Go Left TV. Great source for news. Interviews and opinions of RFK Jr. and Mike Papantonio. Or Ring of Fire on XM radio Saturdays with RFK Jr. and Mike Papantonio. There is truth out there if you know where to find it.

You cannot blame the elites for trying to gain total control but 'we the people' aare also to blame. We are so caught up in the game of building our material wants we have strayed from the most vital basis this country was founded upon.

But how do we fix it. We the corporate media is in control of the far right neo-cons. The jews pretty much own the media and control it so until we can wrestle the media to free and fair I guess we suffer. Like Hitler and Gerbels we have the Neo-cons and the jews. Can anyone dispute this. Having been employed in the media myself I know who controls the networks and it ain't the Irish or the Polish or the Italians or etc. It's names like Murdoch etc. Bill Clinton did no one a favor except a few people like Murdoch when he opened the gate for one person to control Radio, Television, Newspapers and all other forms of media. I liked Bill as a Presedent but this was a mistake just like NAFTA was. Each of these things have had a very negative impact on America in many ways. We are paying for these blunders and the Bushies are like wolves waiting in the woods who have pounced and attacked with a vengance. We'll need a lot of president to undo these wrongs let alone the total obliberation of the constitution by the Bushies. Rebuilding America is a long and hard job and I hope the next president is up to it and does not get pressured into going backward instead charting a new course.
-
I don't like Bill Clinton anymore. Looking back on what he did to the media, and what he did for the corporations with NAFTA and CAFTA. He was no friend of the working man. I dislike Hillary even more, she is more ruthless than good old Bill.

Robert F Kennedy Jr, gets my attention each and every time I hear him.
I watched Naomi Wolf interviewed about her book "The End of America: Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot" and she was talking about how difficult the Constitution is to fully understand. That she had to get help sorting it out.
I sure don't know it well enough to explain it in detail. I think that is why we were supposed to have the 3 branches of Government (checks and balances).
Unfortunately we have 4th branch that has overgrown it all, that is called Cooperate Branch. It has no interest in our freedom/safety/future. Just profits.
James Madison quote
"I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations." -
Virtually silencing voices like Robert F. Kennedy is how we got in this mess. If mainstream media had aired voices of decent during the lead up to war with Iraq, it may have been stopped before we invaded a country that had not killed one American and was not openly threatening us. They were enablers!
When mainstream media ignores voices of decent, they are perpetuating the voices of the right, which is wrong. They may find comfort in the fact that they were misled, but in honesty they weren't misled, they just didn't cover the voices of Americans who disagreed. Mainstream media should be ashamed. Sad to say, they have no shame!
George W.’s inner circle has written books about it. We have blogged about it. If the media does not cover ‘it’ is ‘it’ real. It depends how they spin what ‘it’ is. -
The Kennedy's always have been fearless and blunt.
-
The early Kennedy's were both shot down. enough said!
Yes, the media is to blame for some of this, but it goes much deeper. One thing is that as much as I hate to say this; we have been brainwashed. We(our society) were groomed starting back in the 50's. One thing many of you may not see as part of this, would be the fabulous safety procedure of duck and cover, in the event we were hit by nuclear blast from Russian missiles that JFK jr speaks of in this pods video subject.
I remember doing the drill, hiding under my desk? shez?
I think back on that, and I have spoken about this before, that we were being taught that ducking and hiding were the best defense we had?
Moreover, that example is a drop in the bucket, which led to our problems, but we have been brainwashed, and of course the consumerism and tv entertainment keeps us in a passive slumber.
I have to believe that more US citizens are beginning to wake up. -
And to think we have progressed all these many years to plastic and duct tape as our defense? Duck and cover won't work, we now know they were spinning then. They can't use the same spin, so don't forget your plastic and duct tape. It will protect us?
-
Never trust anything said to you by someone who you wouldn't trust to understand complex issues. Honestly, try waching ABC news at anytime during the day, but especially NIghtline. It used to be a better program but now it is tabloid drivel mixed in with fear mongering or fake assurances that everything is fine in america. Some of their reporters are so bland, fake and idiotic that I feel sick to my stomach everytime I consider that some people get all their news from that channel.
Why do I watch it? I want to know what kind of misinformation I will have to combat when I talk to friends and relatives and how big their knowledge deficit is likely to be.-

darkletters, I posted a hasty, nasty comment which I have edited. After further thought, I wasn't being polite. Welcome, I look forward to your unbiast comments.
Current.com is not for the left, or the right. It is an exchange of opinions on various topics. Some you make like, some you may not. I hope to read some of your nonjudgmental, unbiased posts in the future. -
what other places aren't biased? fox news isn't biased? since when is telling the truth and reporting facts biased? Bush did suspend habeus corpus, that is not a biased fact, it's just a plain old fact. Bush and his administration have lied, it's not pleasant and i don't like it, but they have lied.

there has been all sorts of "people" posting stuff, specially in the past 2 to 4 months.
maybe one day, like with wikipedia, we will find out that some of these "people" belong to CIA and NSA ip addresses
conniepae, dont apologize, your believes are all you have -
Yes, the bush administration is destroying the constitution. But unfortunately, even the most liberal presidential candidate Obama is too. What part of "The Right To Bear Arms shall not be abridged" do you not understand/respect?

lfm, I wasn't apologizing for my beliefs, I was apologizing for being rude. Rude is one of those republican traits that I hate.
The Republicans always claim bias when confronted with facts. Those nasty facts get in their way. They don't need facts, they have spin. I want to hear how they try to spin this stuff. I would like conversations with them enabling posters to hit them between the eyes with facts. The only way we can stop their spinning is hitting them with facts. Rude won't stop them but facts should shame them.
Oh, my mistake, they have no shame! -
god bless him. he needs to run for senate. some of the best comments i've heard in a long long time.
i especially love the comment about: "they want capitalism for the poor and socialism for the rich" . so dead on RFK !! that sounds chomsky-esque. i love it-

If I were to guess as to Robert's recent reading list, I'd say it definitely included the following two books, which everyone here should also familiarize themselves with:
The End of America by Naomi Wolf
How Would a Patriot Act by Glenn Greenwald
It also sounds like he's a fan of David Simon, executive producer of The Wire. -
You can't have a NWO or the "Amero" with the Constitution standing in the way... Americans will have to give up there freedoms and sovereignty first. Of you realize once you cave in to that they'll want to put some kind of tracking implant or chip under your skin just to make sure you comply with the new set of rules they hand you.

Liberals should be careful when they talk about destroying the Constitution. The constant drive to remove religious references from government buildings under the guise of the non-existant "separation of church and state", the McCain-Feingold assault on free speech, the attacks on the Second Amendment, the anti private property ( one of the bulwarks for individual freedom) decisions by the Supremes (Kelo v New London), the constant drive to cast this country as a democracy, the spending provisions and agencies in the central government contrary to Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution, the current administration not protecting our borders against invasion, the Federal Reserve these are but a few of the liberal ideas that are destroying ouor Consittution. It isn't just Bush. It isn't just the republicans. The democrats are complicit in this too. It was Clinton who instituted Echelon, democrat and republican legislators gave the go ahead to go to Iraq. Clinton went to Kosovo with no authorization from Congress based on a non-existant massacre. WE are still there but nothing is said about "quagmire". RFK Jr. and Mike Papantonio need to pull their collective heads out of their butts and recognize the truth instead of carrying the water for the democrats. Our current problem in this regard is Bush. Before that the problem was Clinton. Either McCain, Hillary or Hussein will be the problem this time next year. We need legislators and a president that reads and understands the Constitution not try to remake it to reflect thier own world.
-
Amen, brother Robert! Tell it how it is!
======
Paratus, how do you feel about Bush's use of signing statements to line item veto individual parts of passed bills? I think that's about as blatant a violation of his oath of office as I can imagine.
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."-

he's absolutely on point. the way things currently are and the way people have been lead astray by the various powers that be gives me little hope that out current generation will ever see the light. i know i'm not the only one who feels this way.
-
BentFranklin:
I don't like much of what Bush is or has done over the past 8 years. Don't confuse my ranting about liberals with supporting Bush. He is no conservative. Unlike many here and on other blogs I do not blindly support one party and oppose the other.
I don't see the use of the line item veto as an abuse of executive power. I think it is a good foil to Captial HIll spending. As far as his oath of offic eis concerned, I see many, many violations of that oath over tha past 8 years. I also see a lot of violations of the oath of office on Capital Hill. Being Democrat is not automatically bad just as being Republican is not automatically bad. Look at the individual. -
We as Americans need to DEMAND ‘ACCOUNTABILITY NOW’! I would like to start a new ‘ACCOUNTABILITY NOW’ campaign. I would have red, white and blue bracelets made up with ‘ACCOUNTABILITY NOW’ printed on them and sell them to all Americans who want justice. I want to use the proceeds to buy our own lobbyists to get our voices heard in Washington. I want to try and hire individuals to push for ‘ACCOUNTABILITY NOW’.
Lobbyists work so well in Washington, we could afford our own. We could send free ‘ACCOUNTABILITY NOW’ bracelets to our representatives. We could send them to individuals with voices that are heard by mainstream media to spread the word. WE WANT OUR OWN LOBBYISTS, ‘ACCOUNTABILITY NOW’ is too important to put off till tomorrow!
We need to let Americans know we are trying to change things now! We can’t wait till the next election. America is still using voting machines that have been proven hackable. In 2004 important facts were delayed for the election, that has to change, we are always in campaign mode. Justice denied for a campaign is not working. Justice today is what we need. ‘ACCOUNTABILITY NOW’ IS WHAT WE NEED TO CHANGE AMERICA TODAY!
‘ACCOUNTABILITY NOW’ bracelets would help us buy our own lobbyists! -
Hey there. I think many of us seem to have forgotten the Kennedy's sordid past. In my opinion, RFK is just like Hillary: part of a political dynasty that will do and say anything to be popular.
-
RFK is speaking about a lot of issues that are going on, all of them being extremely important to the people, but he's not going to do anything about it. RFK is a politician, just like Hillary, just like Obama, and all they're going to do is talk becuase that's all they have to do, "say that they're working on it." RFK can talk about how our rights are being taken away, or how we're ill informed about major issues, but he's not going to change the masses minds. WE have to change our own minds, the people, the working class people. In order for any movement to be successful, in order for any REAL change to happen, there needs to be a movement from the bottom up. There are no liberators, the people liberate themselves.

SEARCH for Ralph Nader on the above link. Ralph just gave a press conference May 23, 2008 calling for the impeachment of BUSH CHENEY and lays out 5 impeachable offenses. Ralph says because Congress is doing NOTHING that we, the people have to. He wants us to call for the resignation of Bush/Cheney and hang out placards on our cars, etc. www.votenader.org
-
Conniepae, You are too cool!! I think your idea is fantastic! I'm on board, sell me a few bracelets. ACCOUNTABILITY NOW!!!
-
All the progressive Democrats need to vote for Nader, including Robert Kennedy, Jr. RFK,Jr is big on NO COAL and was at the LIVE EARTH concert and gave an excellent speech there. He is smart enough to know that nuclear power is not the answer. Unfortunately, Obama and Clinton are both pro-coal and Obama is pro-nuclear. Progressive Democrats should stop voting for the second best and vote for the best to lead our country: Ralph Nader/Matt Gonzalez. At the VERY LEAST they should point out that Obama voted for the Bush/Cheney energy policy and force Obama to change his mind. i don't trust Obama at all. Illinois politicians are DIRTY. I know that first hand. Progressive Democrats should change parties and get away from the existing corporate controlled Democratic party.
-
Saber2011 is absolutely right! First things first, we need to completely overhaul this country's failed monetary policy. Our problems have little to do with Republican or Democrat. We are being controlled by a very select few and we do their bidding on a daily basis. Call me a kook, call me whatever, but this is the key. The Federal Reserve needs to be abolished.
Please read, THE REVOLUTION: A MANIFESTO by Ron Paul. Our Awakening begins here.
