Music
Based on St. George and the Dragon, artist Ted Riederer creates a suit of armor built from punk rock records of 1986 and a wall of skulls from the top 100 of 1986. We follow this work for a year from a studio in Queens to a Gallery Show in San Francisco and finally a solo show in Berlin.

The idea is totally innovative, and also reflective of what music becomes to so many of us. I love Ted's spin on St. George and the Dragon; it's an intriguiguing and provocative concept that invites the viewer to self-reflect. It engages the audience and I feel that the most powerful impressions are made in those interactions.

Oh all those poor records. I wonder what would happen if you made a suit out of CD's? You'd have scales. Like a ....Dragon...hmm. Is that Darth Vader or a nazi helmet?

You know tons of other people use music to the same effect in their lives. It's rad to see it expressed in such an open way.

I think this artist is exceptional because I have rarely seen so much dedication, ambition, struggle and willingness take risks without knowing before where it goes, just following his intuition...

    Very brave and amazing result!!

Inspiring. True, all of it. Of course, I would never speak those sentiments out loud, let alone allow anyone to film me while doing it. But still.

Roborant and veridical. Meritoriously adept video and assiduous artist both laudable and enkindling. Right on dudes.

Ted's music influence on his art is moving and conceptually very innovative. This piece is inspirational because he points out his journey in completing the project..he started off with an idea and finished it and has a successful result. I think if all artists had a vision and brought it to fruition there would be more great art. Congrats Ted!

I found Ted's comment about "the struggle" to be inspirational...I needed that today!

Thanks for sharing this inspiring story. It helps to reinforce the concept that you have to pick an idea you believe in and go for it.

I did my very first art show with Antagonist, and will always remember it.

Theodore is sassy as always. He is the American Michael Landy. Well, a Long Island City Michael Landy with amphetamine attention to detail who puts back together what he breaks...including hearts.
