  • Nice list Carolyn! At least it ended on a good note. :-) Unfortunately, I think that the biggest part of the problem isn't the industry itself, but the FDA (I've officially redefined their acronym to the "Foundation for the Destruction of America"). The prices can go to the moon because Big Pharma's don't have to compete with other companies (foreign or in some cases even domestic). Are we really practicing free trade if we keep denying foreign pharmaceutical companies entrance into our markets?

  • The Pharmaceutical Industry is one of the main reasons Cannabis is Illegal to this day.... can't have the cure for cancer competing with their so called treatment Drugs and all the wonderful side affects they produce.

  • I wouldn't call cannabis a cure for cancer; however you are at least half correct, the drug companies can't have an effective pain killer grown in a persons own home because then they wouldn't be able to make a profit on pain killers.

  • Very interesting posting Carolyn! I did not received a link early on my mail box and I have no idea why this post was stacked all the way on the bottom of the news since it is a subject that everyone should be concerned about. The "USA Pharma System" that are based on big profits are not interested in finding a cure for anything but some quick band aid relieve that will put you on the addiction alley forever. Find cures are not profitable to them.

    For all we know big drug companies have a stockpile of cures that they are sitting on just like De Beers and co. manipulate their market by shelving diamonds. I wouldn't put anything past them. I mean, why cure someone if you can make a fortune off of them with prolonged treatment?

    To go a step further, if both the FDA and Big Pharma are really as corrupt as I imagine they are and we get a 100% socialized healthcare system who really wins? Big Pharma's pockets will be loaded with our money and they still won't have to compete with any other companies. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for creative healthcare solutions, but if we don't attack corporatism then I fear we might wake up in the thick of a nightmare.

  • Very well said Hawkmang! These are the real Pirates in this Country. We all remember when President Clinton Admininstration's tried to change our Health Care System and got stack or had to respond to a $1,000,000,000,000 Trillion dollars Gorilla that owns a great part of peoples lives in this Country and Abroad!
